THE LEBRON 13 THREAD *Elites released**Command Force 6/11/16

No shots but Ive never got people buying new shoes to hoop in.

Unless your gettin paid to hoop why would you hoop in new shoes?

I only hoop out doors for fun so I might not understand.

Different financial situations

Thats not the answer

I guess I get it.

Much better answers

Because I walk by broke boys wearing gucci belts and wealthy people wearing walmart jeans.

Obviously peoples priorities arent always in the right place.

Like I said, I wasn't tryna diss anybody that does or doesnt just wanted some insight.

Ball out pleighboi

@bigj505 does have a point with financial situations...regardless of right or wrong priorities, some people can, so they will. And this is clearly evident on IG and the like when you see posts about shoes that released THAT DAY that read "NEED GONE ASAP"...people loss their minds for no reason.

And OAN...some people DO take their hooping seriously, and having been a trainer for 16 years with a GF who's a PT with 20 years experience we can both tell you that old broken down shoes used for continuous strenuous activity is not going to do your body any favors. Ask some of the cats in here. Some of these dudes I see are 6 foot plus and in the 230lb + range. Some guys might see it as an investment in protecting themselves to continue doing what they like to do. I play ice hockey and if I need new gear because my goalie pads are breaking down...you damn right I"m going to invest in some new gear. Same idea. At some point price makes no difference when you're a competitive athlete, at any level.

Cuz really though...what else are you supposed to hoop in? The oldest beat up pair of crap you have...just so you don't have to spend money? If spending money on anything in this regard is that much of a concern, maybe this is the wrong culture to be in... :nerd:

Exactly dc30 dc30 . I guess it's rare these days for people to use Lebron shoes for their intended purpose which is basketball lol

I have way too many purple kicks for that berry pair or whatever the color may be so that will more than likely be a pass for me. As far as the model goes, I'm a fan. I like the red pair and I will probably get those on a discount.

Performance dudes are are no different then the casual guys. Just like how I buy based off colors and looks, performance dudes MUST have the latest and greatest new tech.

What pisses me off is when they stand behind the "intended purposes" garbage to explain their addiction.

Miss me with that and welcome to NT. A forum dedicated more so to the collectors then basketball players. There are basketball forums where it's all intended purpose talk you know.

the collector the collector

It's true there are many more "collectors" than competitive players...and if we're wrong, competitors speak up please...but there are definitely some in here, def can't say there are none. And the dude was originally asking about shoes to HOOP in, so to mention a shoes performance merits in the context of a performance question makes sense.

You are team swoosh so you don't count and you aren't hooping in them out of the box. You are wearing them. Big difference.
 nah these were before my swoosh days and the first day I put them on was to wear em to work... as a FedEx driver wearing em 5 days a week I guarantee I put them through way more abuse than someone hooping in em. Either way... shoe prices are too damn high!

I intend to break @redrum3281  ankles and blow the cork hat off his head while I fly by in these

There are serious basketball players on here and the performance aspect is welcome although not needed for me to determine if I want something or not.

My post was just addressing the times "intended purpose" is used in a way that's a negative slight towards casual buyers. Wasn't directed to anyone specifically.

Ah...got it...like when many are trashing this shoes looks and Batman swoops in with "yeah but it's a performance beast". Well if it is then those who want a performer will buy. Carry on lol

@redrum3281  i'm only speaking about the lebron lows. i have and do play in the kobe 9 and x lows. IF the shoes has good lock down around the heel and ankle you would have no problem with them. in regards to NBA players, they also have professional trainer/dr taping their ankle every game to prevent minor rolls. compare to the kobe 9 or x the lebron 12 lows just doesn't have the same ankle lock down/support you get in the first two. asthetics wise, it's all opinions. personally i think the high also looks better than the low without the air max.

i just don't get the seller that post "need gone asap" in their listing with new releases. LOL if they need it gone asap why buy it in the first place? i personally would never buy from these guys.

Still like these, but definitely just for training/hooping. Only thing I dislike is that Nike insists on Uni Red for Cavs colorways instead of Team Red. How hard is it? I know partially it's so the shoes will pop on a TV screen, and Nike has no incentive to conform to Adidas products, but that Cavs colorways would just look really sharp in Team, Uni just screams Miami Heat-era Brons.
