THE LEBRON 13 THREAD *Elites released**Command Force 6/11/16

Today this is how people generalize

Tall = boot
Mid = everything else
Low = runner

The proof is the KD thread

:lol: you make your own reality. People don't generalize like that all. And your proof is one thread of a shoe that actually looks like a running shoe.

Ehhhh nobody says the Kobe 5-8 9-10 lows look like running shoes. Nor do they say the hyperchase and kds before the 8 look like running shoes.

The kd8 looks like a running shoe because it shares many visible characteristics of nike running shoes......

KD 6, Jordan 2 lows and how soon we forget the transition for Kobe from mid to low wasn't met with joy to begin with. We've gotten use to him having lows. For a long period all sigs were basically mids. Penny, VC, GP don't have a low as a base model. Kobe started the trend.

It's hard for people to go back and it's easy to have revisionist point of view with shoes we've become accustomed to seeing. Kobes being a example. If Nike continues to make high top sneakers the boot comparison will fade. I've seen plenty of boots but never seen one that looks like a Kobe. Hight seems to be the only thing they have in common.

Ehhhh I'm gonna have to say at a bear minimum jordan started the low movement with his xi low ies back in 96. Nash also was a more recent pioneer before Kobe.... But my statement was directly in response to the lows look like running shoes which isn't the case. Your reply to me is trying to shift to a different perspective.

It wasn't about Kobes. It was hight vs CW. You took offense to me using the word "young" pointed out by your quotes.

The proof is the KD thread where the most popular thing to say is they look like running shoes. That's the same stupid mentality at work.

The fact they look like air maxes isn't a surprise because Nike has a history of making sigs after other current sneakers. Jordan 1/ Dunks, Jordan 8/ Air Raids for example.

Point is basketball shoes come in highs and lows. They always have. Show me a mans boot that looks like the Kobe 9 or 10. I haven't seen them. You failed to answer my question of which shoe I posted looked more boot like because the answer is the mid Foam and the reason is color not hight which proves my point. Man up and admit that.
I don't take any offense to you blaming young people for calling shoes boots, because I really don't care either way.  I just found it funny you assumed it was only "young" people, because I don't think it is, and the perception has nothing to do with age.

Your question is do the "Wheat" Foams (designed to look like Timberlands) look like a boot?  Do I really need to answer that...seems pretty obvious to me.  Do the AZG Wheats and 12 Wheats look like Timberlands too?  It's honestly a stupid question and has nothing to do with the Kobe comparison you were trying to make.

I don't have to "man up," your logic is flawed and your argument isn't related to what we were talking about.  How other shoes look more like "boots" than the Kobe 9 and 10, is irrelevant to the question of what people think the Kobes look like.  Plenty of high top shoes that people don't call boots.

Now saying all people who look at the KD8's and think "running shoe" or "Air Max shoe" have a "stupid mentality"...

Didn't Steve Nash and Gilbert Arenas for Adidas have a sig shoe before Kobe? Trash Talk and Gil Zero, right?

Well Kobe had a signature shoe WITH adidas way before those guys.....

But with Nike, although the 2k4 is not 'considered' a Kobe sig, I still view it as such because it was supposed to be.

Allow me to clarify, I meant low top sigs.

Pardon.

Kobe has sneakers that are only lows. Beside the 14 I don't think MJ can claim that. Most of his sigs were base mids with low versions. Nash or Arenas didn't really take off as signature players.

I admit the KD looks like the Air Max. Did you skip that part? I also told you why it's not a issue or surprise to me. Nike has ALWAYS done this. They take bits and pieces of sneakers every year to create sigs.

Yes the wheat LeBrons look more boot like than the Kobes do. You again miss the point. The hight doesn't have anything to do with it.

You guys so easily fall into my trap. Ha ha ha

Lows = runners. I say this and everyone tells me how wrong I am. Dumb statement right. That was the bate and you all took it beautifully.

It's no different then saying hight = boots. That's the only thing the Kobe Elite dudes say over and over. That statement is just as stupid and was my original point to the whole conversation. Hopefully now you all understand how dumb it sounds when folks say this.

We call KD 8 runners because they look like air maxes and we call the Kobes boots because they look like what? Get it now?

Well. MJ played in the OG AJ 2 low, 11 low, 13 low, and 17 low. How far back do you wanna go lol
Agreed, so let's go back to Clyde Frazier then.

Hey, I never really thought that anyone had to bring lows back into whatever is being suggested.

Agreed.

I think too much is made of high vs low. Its all about FIT. Example the Jordan 17 high was an ankle brace of a shoe. The 17 low had the same support, and with better fit, actually played better.

low top running shoes with ankle supporters? Thank goodness. I can happily quit buying kicks now... If these are real... i'm done

You must be joking. Ha ha ha

We haven't seen a pic but low = runners to this guy obviously. An people tell me folks don't generalize like that. Yeah ok NT.

Get in where you fit in.

Tells me all I need to know :smh: Trolls gonna troll

Man this BowB4Me cuz. My rep is good. Everyone knows I'm no troll. Sometimes you gotta pursued people to think clearly by sneaky means. At the end of the convo my point became crystal clear. Hence my post no longer being quoted or disputed.

Not exactly sure what the argument/debate is about, but from what I saw a few things need to be corrected. Jordan started the low top for his shoe beginning with the Air Jordan 1. From the silhouette of the picture the LeBron 13 looks like the Adidas D. Rose 1, mixed with the Jordan Trunner. In regards to low tops non sig we can go all the way back to Chuck Taylors, Blazers, Court something, and etc., I like Kobes, but it's nothing new. Just like Kobe high cut shoes are nothing new, if anything old school high top Air Force, Commander, Flights are more boot like then Kobe. Yep, wheat shoes are more boot like too in the color and material aspect. Looking forward to these and oh there will be a Kobe 11 and 12! ;-)

I ended with 4 LeBron 12 colorways by choice, looking forward to see what the 13 is about, even if it's ugly! Haha!

Let me clear up what I meant about lows. I never said Kobe was the first to have a low top shoe. I said Kobe was the first basketball player to consistently have lows as the base model. The Jordan 1s base model was a high, not a low. Beside the 14 that's actually a mid, MJ has no signature shoe that's main model is low. All high/mids with low versions. Kobe is the opposite. Lows with mid and high versions.

I don't consider Nash or Gil as low top signature trend setters as their sneakers were never as popular as Kobes. The influence wasn't the same.

So if I understand this correctly, if someone comes in third in a race for first, according to what was just said up there, they still win because they may be more influential.

Yeah, that makes sense.

One plus one does not equal two, because you didn't add the plus.

Who gives a **** I saw all these new posts and thought there were clear pics
