THE LEBRON 13 THREAD *Elites released**Command Force 6/11/16

No they didn't hit sale racks like the Lebron 12, for the Lebron XI, the end of cycle color ways when on sale after a month or so.

For the Lebron 12, they went on sale almost immediately for most colorways

Well let me put it like this. Since the 9 this is the only shoe I can count how many times I've seen people rocking em. The 9,10 and 11 were everywhere whenever I went out. I've legit only seen 2 people that I didn't know that were adults wearing the 12 and the rest were children. I bought my kid a few pairs because they look good in toddler sizes IMO but idk maybe I gotta go to the courts.

I bought King's Pride on discount less than 2 weeks after release, same for Gamma Blue, Aways and even BHM's.

So maybe they didn't in your area, but sure seemed like it to me.

I don't think them hitting sales racks is a true litmus test for "sales" anymore.

Almost all LBJ 11's hit the sales racks and clearance stores hard, and they still had the highest sales of the LeBron line to date ($300 million).

Whether they were a "flop" or not is an entirely other (subjective) debate, that seems to happen every year.

Well Nike produces an insane amount of Lebrons... If Jordan retros were produced in those amounts, you'd easily be able to pickup whatever pairs you want. Heck, you can STILL pickup Lebron 12s for retail or less in most cws that released 9 months ago.

Didn't like 1 pair of the XI's, horrible shoe imo. The XII came out the gate hot with the HOL but kinda fizzeled for me. I haven't decided if I like the XIII yet...

They produce more retros than Lebrons

Well there is a retro releasing every week so I believe that.. Also if you consider take down models like AJ 1 mids retros then you're right.

That said I highly doubt there are more individual cws/models of any one pair of retros than there are of any 1 gr cw of Lebrons. I think the exception to this would be holiday XIs.

For me the 12's are great for basketball. The roomy toebox is perfect for my deformed big toe.

Very very true. I've seen the 12s irl outside of Foot Locker/Finish Line/etc about 2 times, both being elementary schoolers. Nobody seems to ball in them or wear them casually in my area.

i have no clue about the sales of the lebron 12 .. i did buy some tho

But I seen and know a lot of people with the 11 tho. Some basic *** colors sold out around me. Everywhere I went I seen em I even had a few pair. The 12 has been the opposite around me tho rarely see em so when I do it stands out.

They probably flopped due to being too expensive. The price hike is so forced with a lot of these shoes. The demand isn't there anymore. I think they format the prices to scale above retro Jordan's. The prices of retro Jordans are right up there with a lot of these Nike sigs, I mean you can't have sigs cheaper than old tech retros. The employees can't be paid more than the boss.

I believe consumers and NikeTalk members definition of a "flop" is not the same as Nike's or a major company. For the consumers, if a Nike sig shoe or any other shoe for that matter (in this case the Nike Lebron line) hits the sales, clearance, or outlet racks that shoe is a "flop". While in actuality that shoe with a retail price of $200 going on sale for $20, $30, $50 etc off is not close to a lost for Nike. Maybe if it took Nike $200 to make the shoe, but on average it takes Nike around $30 to make a shoe. So if you paid $200 for a shoe (we can leave taxes out to achieve more round numbers) Nike has already made close to a $170 profit off your purchase. If you found a pair of shoes you wanted at an outlet or on a sales rack, lets say for $150 instead of the retail price of $200, Nike has still made around a $120 profit off your purchase even with you buying them on sale or with a discount. Although Nike uses a lot of new tech (Flyknit, Flyweave hyperposite, hyperfuse, etc) those materials aren't very expensive. Also by using a lot of different catchy or gimmick titles like EXT, Elite, SE, etc and charges higher prices for the over all same silhouette. Of course Nike as a company has to pay different fees and cost for productions as a company but there constant rise in earnings show that they aren't hurting financially. A lot of us up here (I'm guilty of this too) basically buy the same shoe over and over from a particular line because of a different color. EX: I purchased 13 pairs of XI's two of them where Elites, and two where EXT models. The other 9 where the exact same shoe just with different colors. No improvement in tech or materials. Nike is winning including the Lebron line.

bottom line is...the XII didnt flop. The XI didnt either. they wised up and flat out produced more after the XI. retailers in turn wised up and started selling them at a discount almost on day 1 to get rid of stock.

anyones area is a grain of sand at the beach in comparison to the global market for nike signature shoes. i didnt see many people wearing the XI either, but that doesnt mean they flopped

the people taking hit on these shoes isnt nike is footlockers and the retailers.. the the xii were a major flop! lebron line has been on fire from the 8 to the 11 anything before that floped too [emoji]128514[/emoji].. his sales stayed the same while kd increased alot same with kobes . but at 180 a pop kd sales wont increase dramaticly again i think kobes remains around 100 mil also .. now kirie will flourish .. 200 price point way to damn much for any one to buy 5-10 shoes from one guy imo.
