THE LEBRON 13 THREAD *Elites released**Command Force 6/11/16

Kanye may give Adidas some hype and prestige, but in terms of sales, his product is really just a drop in the bucket, and the brand is struggling in N.A.

From ESPN's story on Harden signing:

Those numbers came out before West's signing.
Not that it matters, because business is measured long term.
Indicators try and predict what may happen,
and if those indicators see what may happen as was done with Sketchers,
something that no sneakerhead in his brainwashed mind could see,
nike's time is coming.
They will not fall through the floor,
but they will not benefit from the free marketing that they currently enjoy.
Kanye gets it.
Piss people off, stay in the news.
Muhammad Ali taught him well.
James Brown showed him how to be audacious.
Give the man the cape.
One monkey don't stop no show.
at the same time nike atheletes have constantly and steadily continued to stay relevant, through College sponorships, overseas tour (bcuz this is a global thing) nike is even undercutting ua by having their highschool camp at the same time and with ua's camp in nyc and nike flying the kids to the bahama's, well which would you rather go to? brainwash them young

I don't pretend to be in a board room. Your credibility took a hit when you stated nobody heard of nike until Jordan, simply not true.

Wear a pair of Reebok's that the average non sneakerhead type, a tourist in times square, may not recognize.
"What are those, Air Jordan's?"
They will not ask you if they are Nike.
I understand, you've taken your tie off and you didn't understand.
Put it back on, be the man.
Me putting a tie back on wouldn't make your nonsense anymore valid. Your business school didn't teach you much that's for sure! LOL pass what you're smoking

that would probably be a European tourist since they're probably never seen an Air Jordan and see tons of Nikes

They're cashing in on the buzz or hype KW created. Which is what Adidas hopes to do at some point.

adidas is already doing that.

things dont change overnight. things take time. but the wheels are spinning already

You are looking to fight.
Not me.
Your approach does not lead to understanding.
I don't want conflict.
Just stating facts.
Jordan's name is so big, that if you are wearing sneakers that are considered nice, people automatically think that they must be those expensive Air Jordan's that people fight and riot over.

They do not do this for Kobe's, nor LeBron's, and then not KD's shoes.

Perhaps you need lunch.
I get angry when I am hungry as well.

They don't do it for LeBrons, Kobes ect yet. Jordan's didn't sell out the first time around. Retro took off because of a generation of kids who didn't have money grew up. They can now afford the shoes they once couldn't have.

Moms can buy all the other brands they want but once those kids grow up they'll also be after the sneakers they couldn't have or afford back in the day. A generation after Brons, Kobes etc. LeBron kills MJ head to head while playing in sneaker sells while selling for $80 more.

The LeBron retro effect down the road will be real. Mark my words.

Adidas is cresting a buzz and hype, but as long as they release products in limited quantities they are quantifying it. Hype and buzz are good but you can't put it in your financial statement.

I tried having a conversation but you want to focus on my tie and if I'm hungry. I'm actually laughing at your comments, not one bit of anger. However, if it helps that you think I'm angry fine, your statements aren't making much sense regardless of my demeanor.

I'm not quoting anyone specifically etc but over 2 pages that have nothing to do with the Lebron 13 is a bit much imo some of you all could swap numbers or send some DM's to each other

That's funny.
The LeBron retro effect won't leave a mark if he remains with Nike, or even if he leaves.
If Jordan retro's took off because of the reason you explained,
then why are they still in flight?
Those who are involved at the sneakercon's weren't even born when MJ retired, the second time.
Show the numbers, if you can, that LeBron outsells Jordan in anything.
I can show you that Jordan is over one hundred million ahead of LeBron in everything.
MOM controls retail, and sneakerheads do not matter.
Nike is famous because of their visibility.
They did not have that until Jordan arrived.
Jordan is still there, last I looked.

It's common sense. I said during their time playing. I don't think the OG Jordan 12 brought in the amount of money in 97 as LeBron just did with his 12th sneaker.

If moms control the market why aren't LA Gear or any of the budget sneakers from years ago still around? I don't understand how mom can control the industry. Moms have been buying kids cheaper sneakers forever. Nike has never been the affordable brand.

Explain how Sketchers became the number two brand in the shoe industry.
After you do that, show us your collection of Sketchers shoes.

Nike hasn't retro one LeBron, Kobe or KD yet. The retro of those sneakers 10 years from now will overshadow whatever those other brands are doing. None of those other brands have the backlog Nike does basketball wise.

They have no retro power to compete. Rose, Howard, Lillard, Wall won't ever carry the weight LeBron does sneaker wise. UA only has Curry. It'll take years to build up their brand. Meanwhile Nike will continue to eat and build on what they already have.

The basketball competition is over folks. Nike has won.

I think they did retro Kobe's.

I'm talking basketball sneakers. I have never seen Sketchers on a basketball court and don't believe for one second there will ever be a Sketcher retro market to rival Nike. Show me the impact moms buying Sketchers has on Nike basketball.

No.
You are changing up the discussion now.

So far they look pretty good to me. I like the fact that they went away from that one piece upper they used on the 12 but I'm not that crazy about the sole. I'm still looking forward to seeing if the adult sizes will look that much different I remember the 11 elites and GS elites looked completely different from eqch other. Also I want to see if they'll be utilizing a strap (I love straps on sneakers) that's where I'm at as of now.

I thought LA Gear was still around

i could def go for a strap like they had on the 2, 4, 5s.....i think 5's had the best strap location wise but it's use was designed horribly, i don't think we'll see another strapped lebron though outside of the soldier line simply bcuz it's the soldier lines defining characteristic

Lebron> Jordan on anything
When Nike starts opening that sample , Friends and family vault people go crazy even more than they do when they started buying Jordan's around the time when the hype was real. If Nike were to retro the fruity pebbles 4s for example people will go crazy for them. GR or not people were still go crazy

i know it's not the right thread, but the 9 thread is dead & I need a relatively quick answer. Is $400 for a DS Lebron 9 Miami vice fair or foul?
