Was gonna' post in the 'scary technology-little Caesars' thread but this is real tho

A great presentation, may have something here

Cliffs:

Musk launched a not-so-ugly wall mounted battery called the Powerwall. It costs $3-3.5k for 7-10kWh. It's infinitely scalable.. literally. It can power houses, cities, states, etc.

Does he just take some drugs, to into how engineers and say "I want this"

:wow:

This dude has some nuts on him, because you know them oil boys ain't feeling homie.

So you pair these with a solar panel and they'll fill up/stay filled up throughout the day, and only start using the charge at night? Cause I'm pretty sure I go over 10kwh per day.

Would the solar panel get enough energy to power my home and still have enough left over to keep the powerwall at full charge? So I only start using it at night?

Yes solar panels power ur house then send the excess energy to the city power grid which i think u get credit for

Musk is my hero. Literally.

One of the main reasons I chose engineering. Dude is so damn inspirational

You dont get credit for the returned energy, you get money. If you dont have solar panels you can just charge it at night when the electricity is cheaper and then during peak hours sell it back to the electric company.

Musk is one of the few CEOs I'd blindly give my money and say here, I want to invest in you.

Elon Musk is overrated for his contributions. None of his technology is anything new, none of it needs to be so expensive, and none of his workers will be unionized.

You think he gives a damn about the average man being able to afford an electric car? Dude made tesla to sell to all of the rich yuppies. Nissan is on a better track when it comes to electric vehicles.

Although it's cool how you can use the batteries for your home. You store the energy you get during the night when electricity is cheaper and sell it back to the utilities during the day when it's more expensive. The PUC has ruled against PG&E on this when they attempted to change this because PG&E is responsible for putting the prices. :pimp:

I'll try to find an article.

Yea, beat me to it.

Anyone have Tesla Solar Panels?
I’m in SoCal. And looking to install these. Not sure I need a powerwall
