All Things Sports Media Thread!!

Idk what numbers bill simmons is getting but whole thing just ain't the same without espn or what it was promised to be

No more Chris Berman on HR Derby and NFL Draft. I actually can't believe this day is finally here.

Chris Berman to Assume New ESPN Role after NFL Season

ESPNMediaZone

Sports broadcasting legend Chris Berman, the six-time National Sportscaster of the Year who arrived at ESPN a month after the network launched in 1979 and became one of the industry’s most popular voices during his almost four decades with the company, will assume a new role for ESPN after the NFL season.

Berman will make appearances on-air and will also serve in public-facing roles on behalf of the company, stepping away from his longtime position as the face of ESPN’s NFL studio coverage, NFL Draft and Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby.

It's going to be weird not having Berman around as often. Can't do it forever, but it'll be an adjustment.

any of yall listen to bill simmons podcast from Friday?

simmons said the eli apple would have gone 3rd if the draft was redone today.. AND Lombardi a dude who worked in front offices was consigning that BS

even if you take out the QBs: dak and wentz

dude aint going over zeke, bosa or conklin in a redraft

then you have other rookies who have played well, where you can make positional arguments.. like tyreek hill or even amongst the DBs jalen ramsey or hargreaves

I don't remember anything apple did that stood out THAT much.. wasn't he the 3rd corner behind Jenkins and DRC?

The ironic thing is any time a coach or athlete calls out Cowherd or Bayless it just further inflates these clowns' egos.

"See!! He pays attention to me! He watches! Tune in tomorrow to hear what i SAY NEXT."

:rolleyes

People, especially coaches and players should've been ignoring those fools years ago.

SI.com has learned via multiple sources that ESPN executives are moving forward with the plan to shift Mike Greenberg—one half of the long-running Mike & Mike radio show on ESPN Radio—into a new role as the lead host of a television show that would air in the mornings on ESPN. The new show will have elements of SportsCenter—which currently airs at that time—as well as a traditional morning show. It is expected to be based in New York City. There is no timeframe yet for the end of Mike & Mike or the beginning of the new program, but sources said to expect the transition to take place sooner than later.

The leading in-house candidate to emerge as a replacement is Trey Wingo, who has experience on ESPN Radio and is one of the network’s signature NFL hosts.

The ironic part here is this new TV show is likely to gain no traction with viewers and will be cancelled within a year. ESPN will then see that with Wingo as the new host of the radio show the ratings didn't slow down much because it's completely robotic, and thus Greeny won't have a fit anywhere anymore.

^ end up look a bunch of the others who try to move out of their lane.. and for someone else to fill that void.. and they end up screwing up a good thing

Jaymee Sire's legs on sportscenter am > greenberg's existence

He's one of the most boring, vanilla, safe sports personalities. He might actually be at the top of the list. No doubt he'll still read ads for sponsors on that talk show.

Jaymee Sire has always been appreciated. Ever since she was working for CSN Bay Area.

I wonder if she's still engaged
