Soul silver/heart gold are great games. But that's only 2 generatios out. You're not dealing with a drastic difference in the number of Pokemon. Especially when you're talking about playable Pokemon. What makes the new games better isn't the story, or the new Pokemon. It's the new game dynamics and features that give them replay value. Online play, breeding dynamics, double and triple battles. They're just so much better. I've literally spent ours solely on breeding for the stats I want, with the moves I want, with the ability I want so on and so forth.

i remember back elementary, we had a yu-gi-oh club, but no one knew how to play the card game. So i just pretended to know the rules and basically made up ish along the way. Even I made up most of the rules, I still lost most of the time

Anyway I always loved the cards when I was in 6th-8th grade. Oddly enough, I was in the perfect demographic for those first 150 Pokemon. I had a few cards in a binder. The 99 can't store was getting kids hype by selling fake cards for 3 dollars.
The movie came out, red and blue were out,
You had to have a lapras to go up and down the coast of cinnabar island to fight missing-no to get x99 rare candies....
Ahhh the good old days.

Ohhh by far The Gold and silver remakes are the best games but the new X/Y/OMEGA RUBY/ALPHA SAPPHIRE game play and online battling and breeding make it hard to put the game down! Gold and silver were always my fav and when they made the remake i was ecstatic! Post your cards i know yall have em somewhere!!!

Last legit pokemon game I played was heart gold, brought back all the memories I had in silver and gold. I did play a bunch of hacked games on emulators for the iphone around this time last year. They were very creative and fun.
