Guy loses 6 fig job after FHRITP yelled at reporter

It's cute how people here talking bout company policy.
Large percentage of NTers get a bulk of their posts in during work hours from their work computers.
Tell me how NT fits into your company policy.

Does punishment fit the crime here?
Dudes days may have been numbered a long time ago.
He just gave them grounds for termination on a silver platter.

You cats could stop being so sensitive though.
lol... you are soft

If non-work related websites are prohibited at your work...and you get fired for being on NT.. that's jus the way it is.

If non-work related websites are not prohibited... and you take care of your work.... theres no problem....

If you run on national TV and say FHRITP and that breaks company policy... you will get fired and thats just the way it is..

Dude is an idiot and there isn't much else to complain about...

Maybe you'll start complaining about a person getting a speeding ticket and point out that NTers speed sometimes.... it doesn't matter

 it's funny how folks are saying he shouldn't have lost his job, all while IGNORING the Code of Conduct, which is posted in the link.

You're looking at it in black and white.

Nothing wrong with that... But when you analyze it in the totality... It doesn't seem like its severe enough to lose the job...

Dudes do far worse stuff inside of the code of conduct...

So true... You can say its in the conduct policy

But let's not act like companies are standing by their policy at ecey turn

Like someone stated... Famb might have sucked and they just was looking for s reason to cut him...

Or he just may not been valuable enough to keep through the PR storm.

I wonder how many NTers talking about the conduct policy are posting from work.

i get the whole code of conduct thing.      even when your off the clock your on the clock.     that's why it perplexes me how when you go on espn.com yahoo news, abc news, or any of those comment sections and you see people posting racist stuff and their job is listed on their facebook profile. i never got it how they could be so stupid.

but in this case, again hey i get the code of conduct,  it sucks that one poor lapse in judgement where something that didn't hurt anyone can cost you your job and everything you worked hard to obtain.   it's a gotcha society today, people are looking for you to slip up and said people looking for you to slip up aren't always squeaky clean themselves.

that said, you gotta be aware of how things are today and be careful of what you put out there for others to see..

It's not so much about the code of conduct, but more specifically the news media angle. When you signed on, most agreements either have you understand that you're a full representative of that company when addressing media, or decline comment and let the communications department handle it. That's what makes it different than NT/twitter/facebook etc. Gray area, but you'd be better off staying away from commenting to journalists if you can't represent yourself properly, much less your company. Words have power in that business.

idk about yall but there is nothing in my handbook about being on sites such as niketalk. as long as you get your work done, everything is fair game and most people I know if in the same work situation.

where do you work at diego

Right..

Dude must work at CVS

This is a no brainer. At my job, there is trainings on how to act even outside of work. You can get fired for even talking trash via social media. You can be a fool outside of work but just don't let your work know about it. If you blurt something out on TV, you know damn well it's outside your realm.

I work in management and trust me when I say this, it is very hard to fire people. Chances are this dude was probably not producing and they found the chance they were looking for. Dude has nobody to blame but himself.

^^^^^^Actually that make more sense. I referenced someone being fired on social media but forgot that person was sort of a dead beat at work.

Rite Aid,

Just because you dudes have gotten away with personal use of the internet on company time, it don't mean that coincides with your company policy.

Man i'm no feminazi, but yelling that **** at a female is just about as flagrant as it gets. I don't see how that's being sensitive.
