OFFICIAL Jordan Super.Fly Thread - Super.Fly 4 & NEW 5

I love black and gold combo so I like it a lot but it does give a trunner-esque look in that colorway (which isn't too bad to me).

The PO design is just such a vast improvement over the regular ones that it might as well be a different model. Hell they probably could have made it the 6 and it would have been perfectly fine.

Yeah, I've been talking to a JB designer and he said the guy who did these left right after. He also did the SF5 and went conservative because it was his first alone design. Bad part of the PO - se tooling as the regular, so no unlocked zoom.

^The brand needs more designs like this. Any word if the designer had any say on the tech used? I still haven't gotten an answer for why a 'Jordan High Rise' ($110) packs FlightSpeed, but a $150 Superfly doesn't. :smh:

Why cant they see that the PO would look 100 percent better if they just did away with that strap ffs.

And christ, angle the collar down.

Why do they shoot themselves in the foot everytime? They never know when to call it good.

POs in the newest Eastbay catalog look good. It's a black white cement grey type color. Not bad imo.

Yup i saw those in eastbay, they are nice. I like most of the sf 5 po colorways but i wont get any just bc i dont like the forefoot zoom only setup or the outsole. The sf 6 looks like it uses nikes new lunarlon foam and a foot imprint like design that really has me intrested right now.

2017s with the new REACT cushioning also used on the Hyperdunks

Debuts Aug 3

The Jordan Super.Fly 2017 puts its best foot forward with a complete overhaul. Instead of the FlightPlate or FlightSpeed support system, Jordan Brand opted to combat four critical pressure points on the foot through REACT’s multidirectional traction pattern that allowed for explosive return of energy and cushioning all at once.

“Every basketball player relies on footwork. Our shoes need to be effective for all moves on the court,” said David Creech, Jordan VP of Design. “The physical realities of the game drive our pursuit of innovation. When this is combined with the soul of the brand, the Jordan DNA, we create the future of the sport — a blend of our heritage and our unwavering obsession with basketball.”

The new Super.Fly 2017 features a one-piece form-fit upper for a natural fit. Updated ‘Flight’ branding pays tribute to the Air Jordan 4. “Right away you notice the responsiveness of Nike React,” Blake noted. “Whatever move you make, it goes along with you.”

WHAT IS NIKE REACT?

Nike React is part of Nike’s cushioning revolution, redefining what’s possible with foam and other cushioning platforms — such as Nike Air VaporMax and Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% featuring ZoomX — to deliver options for every athlete.

Foam can be lightweight. Or it can be resilient. But usually it can’t be both of these things and durable. And that hurdle was the impetus for Nike’s innovation teams, including cushioning experts and chemical engineers, to come together to develop a foam that could offer not just two of those benefits, but all three at once. The result is Nike React, Nike’s latest cushioning innovation and a significant breakthrough in footwear foam.

Nike React is also an example of Nike’s in-house manufacturing ingenuity. Nike fine-tuned the chemistry over hundreds of iterations — using scientific methods to dial in on materials with certain amenable attributes. Think about a cake recipe – the road to Nike React began with testing ingredients to see which composition would yield the perfect outcome. This proprietary foam allows Nike full control over the properties and manufacturing of Nike React, enabling the company to scale the innovation to more athletes and across more sports.

Nike React delivers greater energy return than any other Nike basketball foam tested.
While there are many immediate performance benefits, no sport tests against the three principles of Nike React as fluidly as basketball. The need to shift direction and speed in seamless motion, and to lift off at the blink of an eye pushes a shoe to its limits. Nike React is proven over more than 2,000 hours of basketball testing. It offers a sensation that is as soft and springy as it is squishy and stable. It’s a balance not seen in any other Nike basketball cushioning that will enable athletes to do more and go further.

More precisely, Nike React delivers greater energy return than any other Nike basketball foam tested. Furthermore, it the most durable foam we have tested and use today in basketball. Simply put, the foam reacts swiftly to each step, bouncing back to its original state, ensuring a consistent underfoot feel minute after minute, game after game.

Nike React is first utilized in the Jordan Super.Fly 2017 and the Nike React Hyperdunk 2017, debuted by Draymond Green. Each shoe contains a fully encased full-length Nike React core.

The design process for both basketball shoes was powered by athlete data — how they move, in what direction, and with what force — from the Nike Sports Research Lab. This data is visualized through pressure maps that show exactly where athletes need support and allowing full optimization of cushioning and traction.

They're all over EBay under retail. People probably searching "superfly 6" when actually they're labeled and sold as "superfly 2017". I'm waiting for the tans to pop...have enough black shoes.

Going to hoop in mine tomorrow. 2 things I do not like about this shoe already...you can NOT adjust the laces because the upper from the tongue down is ONE piece. Which makes them super snug, but I prefer the option of loosening my shoes in-between games and rocking them relaxed outside of the gym. The design scraps that idea. Also I'm disappointed in REACT. I've worked out in mine a few times and I'm still.. waiting. to. feel. the. hype. Don't let the orthodic insoles fool you.
