Why does Magna Carta get so much hate?

Seem like this album gets a lot of undeserved hate in my opinion. Wasn't Jays's best, but still better than most of the other trash that's out. What's yalls opinion on this album?

Because it's a truly boring slog where Jay Z mails in 2/3's of the verses on every song and the only memorable moment is 55 seconds of "The Beach is Better".

As of today do u really go back and listen to joints off the album? After the first couple weeks I don't think I ever listened to it again. I thought is was cool when it dropped but joint had 0 replay value. I still listen to tracks off wtt tho.

A couple of songs were cool but the rest was forgettable. I did think it was a good album when it first came out but like ppl said, it had no replay value

An old man was out of touch trying to make current music and repeating his same sorry topics he's been spewing for the last ten years. It's a 1/5 rated album at best.

Because it's just garbage OP. Hot beats, and not much else. Jay has nothing to talk about anymore. Bruh is just banking off his name now.

Wish I knew man, because its one of the better albums from the second half of his career

It's just not that good

Some dope beats and a good verse here and there but it's uninspired and boring but then again, that's every Jay album since KC except for AG

Because it's mediocre at best....just look at the majority of comments in here.

2 of the 3 positive comments are coming from known Jay stans, btw.

Watch the Throne was mediocre, and Magna Carta was even worse then that. Its rough watching jay-z decline like this, but I guess all good things come to an end. I wont forget all the dope music he put out when I was younger, but I just cant rock with him anymore like that

All of this

Thats not saying much.

A lot of us grew up on early Jay-Z. The 2nd half of his career just ain't the same.

Album was good, but I can see why some don't like it.

Album fell off after track 9.

Sounds like every Jay album post the Black Album.

Magna Carta was relatively decent work from Jay comparatively speaking, when looking at the last ten years.
