White/Red / Cherry 12s To Release

Looks like we getting French blues too.

I just want the 5 original CWs. Black and red mostly like everyone else. I haven't given JB my money since 07 but if the remastered version on the 12 (my favorite model) is on point I'm down.

Still want a decent black and silver 5 with no 23 but that's a different convo.

These and the French Blues? In the same year?!

Every now and again Nike gives me what I want.

Why do people call these "Cherrys"? Nowhere on the box does the color refer to as Cherry. Same with the "Cherry" 14s. :x

Cherry 14's? Oh you must mean the Candy Cane 14's! Or did you mean the Valentine 14's? Or were you talking about the Chicago 14's? People are ridiculous with all these nicknames.

surprised to see these so soon..

It'll be damn near 7 years when they release next year, man

Y'all can't expect Jordan Brand to cater to the people who buy a pair of shoes in '09 and have either never wore them or have barely broken them in 6 years later.

Had the '09 pair, and then got '97 Playoffs afterward. After feeling the OG Playoffs, the '09s just didn't compare. I'm in for these if they're at least on par with the '03-04 run since the original releases are heavy as hell.

Also, infinitely cosigned on the stupidity of calling White/Red Jordans "Cherry" :smh:

Probably due to similar reasons as black/red 7s being referred to as "Raptors" (even though the shoes released before the team even existed in the NBA).  I thought the nickname of choice for the white/red 14s was candy cane?

But yeah, using nicknames that are completely unrelated to the shoe's background (i.e. "Space Jam" 11s actually make sense since they were worn by MJ in the movie) is just plain silly
Cherry? I'm in for all the remastered 12s. So the JB forum who's not familiar with me better prepare.

1st thing that needs to be done is changing the thread title. I mean come on man cherry. Really? Those are the white and red 12s. Does calling these cherry make you feel good, cool even? Ha ha ha
Agreed. Thread title might just propagate the use of ridiculous nicknames for shoes even more.

Anyways, hopefully the materials and construction on these will be better than the 2009 release.

Thread bros. I honestly thought I'd get flack for how I worded my post. I'm surprised no one took it the wrong way. Meant to be funny. JB forum maybe more mature that the rest of NT.

The names are misleading for a old head like me. I would just call a shoe whatever color it was unless it had a real back story. Like the Flu Game or Last Shot.

These and the French blues next year??? Yessss! My frenchs are in pretty good shape for their age, I remember taking my then 1 year old son for a long beach walk in them. Thank god for washing machines haha. I never got around to wearing the white and red pair, they really go for 450 and up now? If that is the case I should sell my pair then use that money to buy and new pair of each colorway next year.

Nicknames just make referencing the shoe easier and avoids mix ups.

Although I definitely stopped calling Charcoal 7s, "Raptors" after realizing the shoe released before the team came out.

Charcoal just makes more sense and sounds better anyway.

I understand that, but I think it's just a, "thing" now. Sans a few, I/most of us only went by the color on the box. That's how most of NT was back then.

Everything has a nickname now though. Brons, KDs, Kyries, Jordans. It is what it is.

Just a generational thing.

Nah its a Nike thing. Shoes always had nicknames, but it was really for the models. I don't even remember colorways having nicknames until the Nike SB craze started picking up. Then Nike just started implementing it in everything they do.

Always thought "Flu Game" and "Cherry" nicknames were corny to me, but whatever.

Anyone complaining a it these dropping again better not own or be going after
88 cement 3s
45 Xs
Chi Is
Hares or any shoe that retrod after the CDP series

......................................................But won't it have been 7 years since 2009.................................................................Exactly

Good god, if i get these i'll only need flu games and space jams to complete my childhood destiny.
