Racism is learned behavior. 7 year old SWS calls black man N Word at Park

You can support criminal justice reforms, redistribution of tax dollars so poorer schools get An equal cut, you can vote for true progressive candiates, write your representatives letting them know as a white man systemic racism is something extremely important to you, you can donate to cause that help black American fight justice, you can protest peacefully with black Americans, you can try to educate yourself on the issues facing the black community and actively try to educate others around you

Brah there is a lot you can do. There is a lot every white American thay claims to sympathize with blacks can do....

But most choose not to nothing.

Stop offering up olive branches, and start offering a hand.

That would help

I'm going to be real with you for a sec. I'm 17, and have no license. I'm just a young white guy trying to understand what is going on. I dont have money, I dont have a license so I can't get a job. I'm working on getting a license, I'll have it in a month. I can't vote.

I do what I can, which admittedly isnt much right now. Thanks for your insight though. I live in a predominantly white community, and I love hearing others opinions about racism and things of this nature. I will be the first to tell you I haven't been profiled or stereotyped, but I want to understand , because racism bothers me immensely. I can't stand it, it has always boggled my mind how someone can judge another person just by what they look like.

If I'm out of line, let me know. I am trying to understand, yet I know there are things I will probably never understand, because I am not the one being discriminated against. I don't want to come off as negative in any way, sorry if that is how you may have interpreted my other posts.

Just speak up anytime you get a chance, it's kids like you that can help spark a change, it'll be uncomfortable, push the issue at school and in your community voice your concerns with our society with teachers and counselors

Horrible stuff for a 7 year old to be spewing. That man and his daughters handled it well. Pitying the boy instead of being mad. That's all he deserves.

yes, but ... what do you propose?

I propose that those who share the sentiment keep spreading the message and avoid becoming apathetic or defeated. We have the power of the internet at our fingertips to try and help those blind to the situation, either willfully or not, ultimately come to an understanding. If we keep doing that then this is possible:

This is a beautiful thing right here -- the power of community. This understanding can hopefully encourage this young man to become a conduit of change by supporting reform and educating those around him like Rusty said. We can do this. Nothing is impossible.

I try to do what I can. I feel like the millennial generation is slowly moving towards a color blind society, but the one percent who feel differently ( like this kid and his parents ) are what will continue to us back as humanity.

Didnt say we were the only
We were first though
And I was just pointing out why whites be so salty when it comes to blacks
But it's not only blacks they salty at everyone
Just peep their history
They're like locusts
The migrate and consume and destroy everything in their path
Only thinking about themselves

ok. but it's not like africans and meso/south americans were on the phone sharing building blue prints. although i truly believe africans were one of the true innovators, we don't really know the whole story since europeans wiped out most of all the records.

EDIT:

and as i read the thread you shouldnt jumble WHITES as being all slave owners. there are so many ethnics of europeans that did not participate in the slave trade. you forget it was mostly a few nation/states that were involved in colonial events. not every nation had enough resources to sail the oceans nor did every nation/state have access to certain seaways. but hey man, if that's how you feel, then you sound like some of these guys

Well good luck brah.

As you go out in this world make it a priority to educate yourself, meet new people of different backgrounds, and REALLY listen to them, and actually take action.

Remember as you get older you will only become more comfortable, conservative, and the free ride (doing nothing to change the problem) will becoming more appealing.

And be prepared for push back from you friends and family.

South Americans have melanin in their skin too

Pyramids were all around folks with melanin...

And y'all love bringing up them black Israelites but it is funny seeing them make sws cry. The sad thing is it's always slave master loving negros running to cape for the crying mog

Also white people owned slaves. I'm not getting in this business of saying which ethnic white American was a slave owner but I will say whether they owned them or didn't they benefited from it.

Just a stupid *** deflection and I'm surprised you didn't use the typical "Irish were slaves" ******** sws be using

White immigrants that came over to America took measures to make sure they blended in with white supremacy. I mean hell these days certain Mexicans can claim white. *cough* George Zimmerman

And whoever said 99% of white people aren't racist is a joke

I see more white people complaining about black people protesting against police brutality then supporting their fellow "human"

I love this attitude. I really appreciate people who try to understand, and people who are respectful and want to learn.

You're doing better than a lot of people.

so everyone who has melanin is related ? just like how everyone who is non-melanin is related ? why can't we just all be related?

but bunching all white people as the same is just the same as categorizing black as all the same. because that is completely false. just like saying all latinos are mexican. it's just ignorant to group a race as the same. which is why we are here in the first place.

you're not getting into the discussion because you are failing to see that not every 'white' person participated in the slave trade. tell how did european peasants benefit from the slave trade? it was for the most part only wealthy/sub-rich merchants.

it's clear some people choose to go with the white supremacy route. i mean look at ninjahood and how many times he refused to acknowledge his african routes. to claim a color is ignorant because you are just seeing everyone as the same.

of course you SEE more white complaining because it's what the medias agenda is. which is why i don't watch that garbage. you want real unbias news you have to watch sources outside the US.

White pride and Black pride are recent concepts.

When you realize people from the Americas all the way to Australia were brown by default, you quit worrying about who did what first. It's so hard for people accept the idea of a global continuity in culture, yet people got ideas like the tower of Babel and the confusion of tongues in their mental storybank.

I think as people of color we must be careful with prescribing to nationalistic ideologies because they are no different than ideologies that white supremacists embrace. Also when blacks adopt nationalistict ideologies they can isolate and prevent possible white allies from joining our fight for justice and equality. I agree with some of my white brothers in this thread in that we must stay away from nationalistic ideologies when speaking on racism. It's like being someone who criticizes racism but discriminates against gay people it's def hypocritical.

White supremacy isn't ending anytime soon so I'm good on that holding hands kumbaya ****. If you're down then you're down but that aint many because the majority supports it whether they realize it or not.

black people couldn't even have flourishing communities in America without white people coming in and burning it down. The real terrorist

Cause we are more beautiful
Age more gracefully
Mentally and physically superior
More culture
Better rhythm
Better singers
More resilient
More knowledgable
More in tune with nature/earth
We were the first men on earth
Better cooks
Able to adapt more than them
Bigger penises
I could keep going............
But if we all derive from African ancestors, we all should be proud of this and embrace OUR history. I'm Mexican doe

and who do you exactly consider melanated ? everyone with dark(er) skin? and if you think it's 'white people' doing it in present time then you are mistaken. and african isn't the only continent being raped. nor is it the only continent that has been diminished of it's resources. it's really quite sad that you see it as white vs black and that you only have one side to choose but hey man, people can believe what they, which is why we are probably here discussing this.

Read through the whole thread. I'm beginning to just think my take on human beings as well as logic has to be flawed.

I just don't see how "well not all whites had slaved", " 99% of white ppl I know are not racist", "mostly uneducated white folks", etc makes even an iota of sense to some. Randy Brown has a championship ring regardless of whether he led the team in scoring....

As some folks have said, what history points to the need of giving white folks the positive benefit of doubt? What in history can make me feel bad about saying as black person, I'm more peaceful and loving as a white person generally speaking? 98% of human atrocities have been perpetuated by what group of ppl?

Not only would it be quite illogical to then give a person belonging from that group the benefit of the doubt, it's detrimental and unwise to my well being and self preservation.

That is america, there are a lot of white people who haven't even seen a black person before, not to mention have racial prejudices against them. People should not focus on past events such as the Atlantic slave trade etc. but instead treat people as individuals and seek to overcome any racial issues.

P.S.if I don't respond to you guys it's because I'm headed to sleep.

You wouldn't dare tell a Jewish person to get over the Holocaust.

So quick to tell Black folks to forget about the past. :smh:

my people were persecuted during the holocaust too papa, my parents are both from europe, I have absolutely nothing to do with slavery in this country. I am over the holocaust, I don't complain about it and say Germans or anyone else on the axis side are bad people because of it.

Are you being oppressed here in America?

Are Black people being oppressed here in America?

So black people need to just get over everything that has been done to them

Slavery, the decades of domestic terrorism after it, Jim Crow, and the current system of racism they live under......

Whatever dude I'm not telling nobody nothing. If you want to live in the past go ahead papa, I'm focused on the present and how my actions in the present can build a better future for myself.
