New wave of HS and College dropouts making it big doing it in tech/startup community rather than Spo

Man what i could've done with the $ I took out in student loans for my freshman year ALONE if I'd applied it to my dream....

If these kids can code at early age, what the point of going to high school just to amass student debt?

Cant wait for the Silicone Valley bubble to burst. All this throwing real money at fake money. Pre revenue/No revenue gimme billions face mogs gone die a gruesome death

They should have to do atkeast two years in college!

They're ruining college technology!

etc etc...

It's amazing how we give basketball players such grief about pursuing a dream that they at very well capable of attaining....

But never bet an eyelash at baseball, tennis, golf, and now tech folks.

:smh:
that's because none of those sports generate money like college football and basketball do. although with football, i doubt an 18 year old can even survive in the nfl.

There's no reason to finish HS if these teens can write code

 mannn this the wildest thing I've ever read. You have a lot to learn about the software field and life in general. You think because you can code you are a genius and can do well dropping out of hs. Those kids are extreme introverts it doesn't translate well in the long run.

Startups won't be startups forever, and once they form into big corporations they go by big corporation politics. They won't be anything but coders , because they have no education to justify moving them to higher positions.

You really have no idea what you are talking about stop spreading this bs.

Yal are acting like coding is some rare skill that only certain people can learn. There are kids that learn how to code in middle school, should they drop out too?

And if they are dropping out of hs they aren't smart enough to ask fo company stock, so if its not their company then what? They won't be rich. I'm finessing a highschooler to work for me not giving them anything but a salary and benefits. Yal sound od wild.

Edit: Now that I think about it there is no company stock its a start up. Coders are the mules only fools want to code for the rest of their lifes. The big money is in technical management.

Wtf are you talking about?  Go on angel list and look at the front end, back end, full stack, ios, android etc. developer positions and they all offer equity.

At a college degree when you can write elegant code.  They got indians that barely speak any english signing big contracts in the valley because they can write elegant code in python and ruby on rails.  You have plenty of options as a programmer, a lot of them can sign on with an agent that'll keep them busy with freelance work at a $250/hr rate

"The school drop out never liked the **** from day one." This is very dope though. Bay Area has history of going "independent" routes.

this code thing is just a fad. act like u born to knowing sql, cplus plus, macro, dot net and stuff. lol

there‘s no doubt that there are talented individuals.out dere. college is supposed to broaden ur horizons. establish networks, friends, etc etc.

its not just bout putting all ur eggs in a basket.

id still make mai kids go through college, even if he was a genius.

It's not hating if it's an obvious fact that the tech bubble will burst. It's not a matter of if but when
