there‘s no doubt that there are talented individuals.out dere. college is supposed to broaden ur horizons. establish networks, friends, etc etc.

its not just bout putting all ur eggs in a basket.

id still make mai kids go through college, even if he was a genius.
How is programming a fad?  thats like saying tech is a fad, just ridiculous

Coding is not a fad brah.

More and more professional are starting to require or request people know how to code in at least one language

Maybe it is a bit over hyped now with all these tech start ups.

Wtf are you talking about?  Go on angel list and look at the front end, back end, full stack, ios, android etc. developer positions and they all offer equity.     At a college degree when you can write elegant code.  They got indians that barely speak any english signing big contracts in the valley because they can write elegant code in python and ruby on rails.  You have plenty of options as a programmer, a lot of them can sign on with an agent that'll keep them busy with freelance work at a $250/hr rate

So now you aren't even on topic of your original post. How you go from hs dropouts to college students & oversea people coming to work here. Like I said before your logic is flawed talk to 40 year old programmers that can't get a promotion because they didn't go to college. You aren't in the field. You are generalizing top talent that makes up probably 1% of coders advising people to drop out of hs. That's just terrible advice.

You don't even understand how hard it is to land a job out in Silicon Valley and you're advising people to drop out because they know how to code

Coding also isn't a fad, but people are making it seem like the lifestyle is the best thing ever.

Waste time? lol

One of the few oppritunites in life to have your cake and eat it too....
Why would you pay to go to school to go into the field of work that you already have offers for? without spending both time and money

Right?

Who needs an education.

Being an uneducated dreamer>>

Preach that.

They are getting an education, a better one for what they're trying to do in the real tech/business world rather than sitting in classrooms

if u are and were as good as u created this character to be, wouldnt u get a full ride?

did u ever work in real lyfe? day have employer sponsored educational reimbursements. if u was really in da tech field, u know theyy need to recertify demselves n keep their education going.

all dese weak attempts to encourage people to drop out n stop education is too silly too much mr. macontosh.

new gens soft worrying bout dere raffle ticket as opposed to day jobs. self placating n sootheing for no need 4 school

You never heard of internships or working full time while going to school?

Why don't you start coding man? Go out to Silicon Valley and get that bread?

I take it I can't just watch a few youtube vids and learn how to code huh.. :nerd:

Yeah you can. There a ton of resources out there. Anyone can learn, but to get really good. It takes a ton of time, and talent to be honest

These dudes that be getting offers outta high school have probably been coding since they were little kids, and have out in a **** ton of hours already

And literally the KG an Kobe's of the programming world

How Dense are you, you go to school to get the job, u intern to get the opportunity to get the job, in this scenario you are already offered the job.

 I'm dense yet you keep going back and forth between scenarios I can't keep up. I can't be too dense I'm working in the profession that you are praising.

How bout the 2nd scenario I gave you that you disregarded, work full time and get your degree part time?

You know what I really don't care. Your threads are always full of nonsense I seriously hope no one takes any of your suggestions seriously.

Not praising the particular profession.  Just praising young kids that have the balls to pursue what they want.  Same as the athletes that go pro early, and child actors, entertainers, artists etc.
