Resellers and market dwindling.... flight club rejects shoes

I think alllll these mom and pop consignment stores are in trouble...this is known as a tipping point....Sneakers will always sell as we know...but the resell market has reached its tipping point in my eyes.....theres more resellers than collectors.....i just think about all the shows I ve been to in the last few years.....everyone is selling and a small percentage show up with no shoes.....and just money to buy.....

thank you for finally producing enough shoes Nike......

I agree it's about dead because of a release every week and price point, but enough shoes? Venture into the chi 1 thread and see that's not the case.

But still it depends on what you have. The limited 1s will hold price. People starting to wise up to the fact that general releases are really not such a big deal. Even most xis have lost steam. After the hype dies the true valued sneakers stand tall. Its gonna be 1s.

1s and all OG color ways not to mention super limited and packs ie frags, fears etc

Good maybe the people that actually buy sneakers to wear them won't have to deal with instant sell outs on GRs

i hate to say this but the sneakers they listed on theyre board are wack. the only one two that caught my eye is the yeezy foam and the legend blue 11. everything else should be given to a church or salvation army

I agree but I would add the Georgetown 11's those are fresh as hell.

I believe it has to do with space also...remember flight club is just one store now here in NY dont know if they still have the OG smaller store, but anywho space is very important (ex.$$$) here in NY so for them to have the million and forever pairs of roshes that have been made plus all those JB gr's it just doesnt make cents for them to have em in stock for god knows how long. But it is a good thing prolly one of the pins thatll make this whole everybody is a reseller/"sneaker head" bubble burst.

Too many people are picking up just to resell, and kicks hovering around their retail price don't make a consignment store any money.

If anything this just goes to show how many people try to sell at flight club. Just about every release saturday, it will be PACKED with people bringing the SAME sneaker. I think they're also just trying not to waste their time and other people's time. I remember the day of the legend blue 11s the line was down the block with people trying to consign with them. And they don't care what price sneakers sell and whether it's under, at, or above retail. They sell hundreds of sneakers a day from $50 - $5000 and they get a straight 20%.

No it indeed matters

For Barcelona Days or Nights.

They retail for $190. Tax is $200+

Tack on 20% and the person needs to sell them for $240 just to break even. The person isn't selling them for that. The market for them is like $220. You do the math on why they don't want any.

Some like the Legend Blues they probably just have too many.

They've been doing this for years, they'll just wait to tell you when you arrive or reject the shoes when you submit a quote!

These are all shoes that will take almost a year to "possibly" resell, and a few not even worth resell.

When the Concord and Bred XI's released years ago, they wouldn't accept them up to 6-8 months after the release as they were already holding onto hundreds of pairs in stock from people dropping off bundles on release day.

You're talking from the standpoint of the seller. Flight Club doesn't care. If somebody isn't bringing sneakers to flight club bc they're not getting enough of a return, flight club doesn't give two F**ks.. just look at how stocked they are with a FSR of every GR imaginable already.

No, I'm talking from the perspective of Fight Club

Why would they want a sneaker they won't be able to sell taking up valuable space from a sneaker that they can sell?

They have their own stock already. They don't want more that takes up space that they will have to keep for a year or two just to make money off of.

Inventory space is valuable.

you changed your point from market value v inventory space but I got you.

Not to mention, every time they sell a couple in a certain size, they raise the price on the next batch in that size.

Look at the shoes posted they probably get flooded with sellers trying to sell those
