Yep, Nike has and will always thrive off the limited stuff. It pushes their brand to super premium status and helps cross sells similar (or cheaper) products for their company. They have the demand and supply equilibrium down to a science. This is something that Adidas and the other brands haven't quite master. Adidas has restocked the Xeno and Ultra Boosts so many times that they've become commodities and no one wants them.
Bulk selling has even faded away. I use to move bulk GR's to several different buyers last year but those same buyers are no where to be found. This is fine with me though. I'm all for the average consumer to be able to score on shoes without paying an obscene up charge.
It's funny you say that because Adidas is doing exactly what Nike has been doing in the past with the 350/750/950 Yeezys. Clearly, the collab with Kanye was simply to build hype for the brand.
