Resellers and market dwindling.... flight club rejects shoes

Yep, Nike has and will always thrive off the limited stuff. It pushes their brand to super premium status and helps cross sells similar (or cheaper) products for their company. They have the demand and supply equilibrium down to a science. This is something that Adidas and the other brands haven't quite master. Adidas has restocked the Xeno and Ultra Boosts so many times that they've become commodities and no one wants them.

Bulk selling has even faded away. I use to move bulk GR's to several different buyers last year but those same buyers are no where to be found. This is fine with me though. I'm all for the average consumer to be able to score on shoes without paying an obscene up charge.

It's funny you say that because Adidas is doing exactly what Nike has been doing in the past with the 350/750/950 Yeezys. Clearly, the collab with Kanye was simply to build hype for the brand.

The Yeezy partnership has helped them for sure. No one was talking about Adidas before the collab. But the price point for the 950's and the clothing was a bad move on their part. We'll see if they can keep the hype train up with future 350/750 releases.

I believe it has to do with space also...remember flight club is just one store now here in NY dont know if they still have the OG smaller store, but anywho space is very important (ex.$$$) here in NY so for them to have the million and forever pairs of roshes that have been made plus all those JB gr's it just doesnt make cents for them to have em in stock for god knows how long. But it is a good thing prolly one of the pins thatll make this whole everybody is a reseller/"sneaker head" bubble burst.

BINGO. Real estate is expensive in NY. FC doesn't want shoes that are going to sit for months and months when they can use the space for shoes that are actually selling.

Right? How much was a lot of the clothing? The clothing looked ridiculous as well, IMO. The ripped up shirt was going for like 200 or something retail, I think? The thing was ugly as sin.

Come on my friend Obesity is a serious issue, don't joke about that.  Plus Mayor has lost a lot of weight proving you can lose weight and obesity can be fought.

Do u understand the ppoint that was being made? Cuz u pretty much said that a person can control themselves from gaining weight....well it's the same concept with shoes, u can control the hypebeast within u and not pay resell

I know it was a joke/other saying for what the mayor said.  But obesity is still a serious epidemic.

Nah, there's a buyer for every show these days, jordans have finally become appealing to the biggest demographic in the us, white guys/girls between the ages of 23-35

Pitching on ig to a bunch of Kanye, Macklemore, etc fans is how it's done now

A buyer for every shoe. Just no money to be made on most via resell LOL!

I'd say there are more shoes (and sellers) than buyers nowadays, especially if you think about the increase in releases. Also, it doesn't help that some in the current crop of "fans" has considered (or even embraced) purchasing fakes, which means that post-release, resellers are no longer the only option to get that look.

I'm elated to say that moving forward, sans a few OG CW releases, I'm sticking exclusively to 1s.

As of now, I have zero plans on purchasing a pair of Js until next May -maybe.

The culture is out of control, and I'm getting too old to deal with internet geeks (bots), lame managers at retail stores (rigged raffles), and resellers (scumbags).

There is no validity to this at all.

23Penny makes a killing slinging these shoes no one wants.

Someone always wants them!

The stabdard pricing model for retros is extremely stupid... Retro 2s priced at $190 next year is a joke. OG 2 cws sat at $150 last year-how are they going to sell new 2 cws for $190 in 2016? Laughable business practice.

All I want to do is wear the shoes, that's all I want to do; is that so hard.

?

I'll be 40 in a few months.

Kanye is dead to me and i'm from Chicago.

Macklewhatever is a complete clown.

Greed is becoming more and more prevalent, as are fakes.

My .02

Kanye is dead to me too. I was wearing AJ 1s way before him.
I couldn't care less about Seattle's Macklemore, I'm all about Seattle's Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder was crowd surfing in VI's way before Macklewhatever. You can even see him rocking them on their MTV Unplugged appearance.

I also agree with you about greed and fakes. I will add phonies to that.
