Nike Hyperrev 2016

Kookoo89 repped for the review.
Tell us how's the breathability?
It's actually really tough to tell what the breathability is going to be like. It has that mesh sock material. There is also hyperfuse on top of that on the lateral side and toe box. The only place where you can visibly see it is on the tongue. The material is fairly thin though, so it could be okay. But my first thought is that it's not going to be amazing. I imagine it would be similar to the Kyrie 2s because they both use a lot of hyperfuse. My regular rotation at the moment are the Curry 1s, Crazylight Boost 2015, Rose 6 and Kyrie 1s. I'd put it ahead of the Rose and Kyrie's. Curry and CL2015 were really good. It's was an amazing year for budget shoes.

Am curious to see how the cushioning on the 2016 compares to the 2015.

I really wanted to like the 15s, but the zoom was a bit harder than i'm used to... Expect i'll find the 16s much the same though.

Okay, here's my update after abut 2 hours of on court time.

The cushioning is amazing for people who like to feel that little bounce. You feel it about mid heel and mid forefoot (just under the toes). I didn't lose as much court feel as I thought I would. I was doing a lot of hard cutting and the transition from forefoot to toes was really good. Gave me a slight boost.

I thought the use of hyperfuse was going to take away from the comfort of the shoe, but it felt very pliable on the move. I think once I work the mesh in a bit, it'll be even better. It plays more like a low cut shoe. The sock liner didn't get in the way at all. My favourite part is it's a light shoe but it feels extremely secure around my foot. Great fit for me.

The breathability was okay. No complaints. Running a lot, didn't get very sweaty. Not incredible, but no issues at all either.

I would say the traction could have been done a little better. It's good, don't get me wrong. I was playing on a pretty dusty court and didn't wipe once. But you may slip if you're doing a lot of lighter movement. I'm not really complaining about it, but they did so much so well where if they put the Kyrie 2 traction with this setup and even priced it higher than the Kyrie's, I'd still buy the Hyperrev's. Shoe of the year so far, haha.

Honestly, it was an enjoyable experience overall. Felt quick and thought I could jump higher. If you want to play ball in them, go TTS. If you're going to use them as a casual shoe or have SUPER wide feet (mine are slightly above average width), I'd go up half a size. I still liked the zoom setup on the originals better, but I think overall I'd rather play in these because of the better security, traction and fit. They're going to be in my gym bag for the next month at least.

I can't wait to hear what real ballers have to say about them.

The black ones are clean.

Heskicks has a video up in which he picked up two color ways, one for J. Jones of kick genius and the other for Nightwing. Point is, be ready for detailed videos of these in the next few weeks, performance videos to follow

Also there was a blue and white color way I haven't seen yet, looks pretty clean to me

Thanks for the review Kookoo89.

I have one question, is this low top or mid top shoes?

I just came back from Nike store to try on LBJ Ambassador 8 with looks like the same style of bootie but it is more like low top, the bootie doesn't really help the ankle to stay on place.

It's very similar to that. The bootie starts around the ankle.

Thanks for posting that info. I peeped his video and did a screengrab of the blue ones. Mannnnn now I dont wanna buy the red ones.

You got it my man. The blue pair kinda reminds me of a TB pair. Since the Hyperrev line has been the March Madness show the past 2 years, I only imagine we will be getting even more colors like green purple etc. Can't wait, these things look beastly

I look forward to getting a pair because I know what to expect. The originals were nice, the 2015's were a great shoe and I expect the same on the 2016.

Tell me how the originals were 120, last years were 130, but somehow were back down to 110[emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

Because they're basketball shoes for basketball players and they're aren't many basketball players out there so the shoes always go on sale. :nerd:

Tellin me. I picked up the original ones for $39 at the outlets

The first edition had vibrant colors so that was another turnoff so they were deeply discounted.

I ordered the black 2016's today at retail, at $110 I don't feel bad because it's a great shoe. It's the first pair of Hyperevs I've paid full retail for :smh:

I never minded the vibrant colors. The main reason for them was because they, like the 2015 and most likely 2016, were meant to be the March Madness kicks. That's why we see so many different color ways and such. I scooped the Oregons from the outlets and picked up the blue and black (Duke if you will) from footlocker discounted
