Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro "White/Cement" - The Aftermath - NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING

Yep.. And we keep buying em.. Even at their inflated costs. Some already going for 250 w/o NA.. :smh:

Nike last summer (August) prepped folks by way of having meet ups with media/blogger types that because quality is an issue it would be looking at the stalwarts (1s, 4s, 7s, etc) of the brand to capture the quality that made it great. This meant starting in 2015 remastered editions....meaning new molds cast from original or near original molds, likewise sourcing of materials and incentivizing quality controls. as such consumers would see a $15-20 increase over previous year (2014) AND there would be less quantity as it is suppose to be about quality. These will be $250 easy but there should be a better leather used, better fit, and hopefully better workmanship.

Any NTers who can cop multiple pairs willing to provide to NTers who strike out before stocking your multiple pairs?

Oh of course. But I mean raising the prices doesn't really do anything but raise the reseller price on limited releases. This stuff gets real annoying real quick.
Actually it does.

Nike sees people forking over money left and right for 5-8 times the MSRP of the shoe.

So why not price out the reseller?

Which is exactly what they are doing

Not gonna price out the reseller because people will continue to purchase from the reseller. Just dons fragments

While I think there will still be resellers, they will be less of a problem and will earn lower profit margins

The real question is whether meeting demand (either by pre-orders or reasonably sized general release...ex. black infrared 6 or larger volume) would change the positive element of the hype or the demand for future releases (ex. due to personal budget planning).  Given how early they're releasing this launch info (and how early they've released details for past releases of popular OG models), I don't think they're worried about stifling demand.  For example, Apple keeps things under wrap as long as possible b/c they know it will kill demand for the product currently in the market (people either wait for the new device, or wait for the price on the current device to plummet).  Shoes are different than tech though, particularly for retros.  I honestly believe that we would all buy what we want regardless of volume.  Only the hyperbeasts would slow down on purchases if everything can be easily copped.  The real question is whether the lost hyperbeast volume is higher or lower than those enthusiasts who would buy a particular shoe but strike out b/c of low volume.  i.e. Is the hyperbeast volume worth more than selling to enthusiasts who would buy given the opportunity.  Make sense?  Personally I think Nike finds value in the allure of being limited, and that ancillary free marketing is what they're after; it's not about the total sales volume.

It seems like they're just dropping the first colorway of each model with Nike Air. So next will probably be 3M tongue Fire Red 5, then White Infrared 6.
How about the 2's? #NoLoveForThe2s

Couldn't see myself buying another Infrared 6 colorway, Nike Air or not. My pair from last year is still DS as it is.

The Fire Red V's now, that could be a different story. 2013 pairs were both trash and I don't have either anymore. If this Remastered thing continues a jump in quality would be appreciated.

I bought both infrared colorways last year and love em. A Nike air pair would just be pair #2 for me and I could wear the 2014 ones

I purchased both as well, but i'm not really the type to double up honestly. Like if I had a pair of White Cement 4's from 2012, that were in good condition and I was satisfied with them, I wouldn't be interested in the pair dropping next year.

Good day guys. New to the forum and new to the whole sneaker game. I have read alot of your guys advice as to sneakers. I have recently purchased a few i liked from outlets. I would however like to purchase more limited /sample ones. In saying that how would i know if its an actual sample and not a copy or fake? I have provided a link to a pair i have been interested in but sceptical. Any advice on these guys? Thanks in advance.http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/151708030273?_mwBanner=1
