Yeah I don't doubt JB will give us a crappy mold on the 2016 pairs. I just don't think they will give us that terrible plastic leather. I think i'm in the minority but I don't buy the shoes for the mold, I buy the shoes because of memories and the way they look. That being said I would prefer the mold to be as close as possible to the OG's, but once they're on foot the newer 4's don't look bad to me. 

 I was more concerned about the quality of the leather, because that plastic garbage hurts my pinky toes.

Same here on the pinky  toes. The only 4's I've owned in the 2000's that didn't hurt my pinky toes were the Cool Grey 4's. So I'm pretty sure these are going to be foot pinchers.

I really don't think they will use crappy leather. The Oreo's / Columbia's this year were awesome in my book.

I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort on the Oreo's / Columbia's this year. They are super comfy.

Unfortunately never bought them so I can't speak to those. The Mars ones were the worst offenders. They would rub my pinky toes so hard they were beyond uncomfortable to wear.

On another note, I like those Flight 89's. Might buy when my FLTCLB 80's are beat up
 
The Columbias and Oreos were made with amazing leather. But the teal ones were not. There have between quite a few remastered releases with bad leather this year tbh

Yeah I agree. However, I think the Teal 4's were miles ahead in terms of quality compared to the 2012 WC 4's.

I know everyone seems to think that columbias and Oreos had great leather, but I disagree. The og columbias and Oreos had much better and thicker leather than the 2015 models. Don't be brainwashed by JB just because they used tumbled leather. The og leather was much better.

I was happy with them. I think they are fine shoes. 2 of my favorite releases of the year so far.
 
While that's true, the leather was better than many recent Jordans from the last 6 or so years. They do deserve some credit. The tumble leather was better than that used on the Laney 5s of 2013, the Chicago 10s from 2012, the Metallic 1s from 2009 and the list goes on.

Agreed, most associate tumbled leather with higher quality leather.

I REALLY wish they'd make a NEW mold, one that at least kinda resembles the '99's. Honestly though, I've almost LOST all hope at this point... I just hope when they "REMASTER" the Black/Cement IV's (not really) they come better than the 2012's.... & Hopefully, they use some durabuck this time around...​

That being said the Oreo's and Columbia were made with much better material than most of the previous retros before the remastered series , IE Fire Red 4's etc.
 
Been saying forever that tumbled leather is just a design feature and is not always representative of good quality. You have to use discretion with tumbled leather just as you would with any type of other leather.

im excited that in the pics of the 2016s that the color of cement grey & amount of speckles seem to be the closest to the OGs so far.

However the shape is a completely different story. The shape looks god awful. We need at least the 99 mold back. Preferably the 89 mold.

yes, they do. they just pick and choose to use it on stuff people don't buy, but it is actually their flagship product. the Laser 1 has amazing leather and is suppose to be the flagship of the 1s, the marvin 7 has awesome leather, but no one buy'em. the melo M10 Year of the Horse has the thickest and the highest quality leather I've seen since 96, but people pass on them because they are Melo's. the 2012 has awesome leather on those stupid looking patches, 2011 and 2013 all have great leather, but people pass on them because all they want are retros.

I have heard over and over again that none of those shoes no matter how nice they look are actual genuine leather. Aren't they all synthetic leather?
