Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro "White/Cement" - The Aftermath - NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING

i hear you on them needing to be as close to the o.g.'s as possible. i was just asking if they were going to have the tumbled leather. perhaps comfort is subjective, but my oreo 4's feel very comfortable (to me)...more so than my infrared 3 retro's. my opinion is just that and shouldn't be really held beyond that.

Tumbled leather....no way.  They need to be as close to OG as possible; OGs didn't have tumbled leather.  I have the Oreos; they look great, but they are absolutely not soft.  I don't get why people keep saying the leather quality is so good.  Touch them and they are anything but soft...theyr'e hard!  The fact that they look so good, and feel so hard really is deceiving.
Just because your pair is not soft doesn't mean everyone's else is. Do you judge the quality of a mass produced sneaker based on your experience only?

I think I misunderstood your comment; sorry.  Shoe comfort wise, I agree, the Oreos are quite nice!  Soft leather though..."my opinion" is that they're not soft.  And of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion.  Tumbled leather, nope.

You're right...maybe they produced them in different plants or different countries and used completely different material.  Would love to feel a pair that has soft leather... That said, even with production and QA differences, I do highly doubt there would be a dramatic difference across even a GR....as in completely different material.

I need to get my ds 99 black/cement pair sole swapped before they try and release those with NA.I highly doubt they will fix the netting and improve on the mold with these tho.....if not i will gladly pass on this release
Say man u might wanna just keep them 99s for viewing only. aint no need in wasting all that money n whatnot just try n get 2 pairs of these new ones. i kno quality aint the same n stuff but its the closest u gon get

black/cement and white/cement are two different shoes...why would i get these to replace my black/cements...plus 99 mold>>>>>these I'm most definitely sure

That's exactly how I feel about my Oreos, I've been wondering if my pair was from a bad batch. The ones I own are neither soft nor comfortable.. They fit good but leave my feet sore after wearing them. The Columbia 4s I own are softer to the touch but still not all that comfy, maybe 4s just don't contour to my feet well. I'm thinking in the future I may go a .5 size bigger so I can throw a thicker insole in em.

On a side note: I have checked some other pairs in store and they seem to be the same material. The tumble looks nice, but it's kind of stiff and has a gloss to it.. Reminds me of the French Blue 7s. Soft to me is something like BOB Xs or better..

Those 2 pairs do look nice and soft but I cant attest to how they feel since they are still in DS condition.  Just haven't had any need to wear them in my rotation.  But hearing what you guys are saying doesn't make me want to wear them either.

Not sure what that orher guy is saying. FB VII's have very soft leather, some of the softest I've seen. The oreo's and Columbia IV's do as well; they just need to be broken in. It's hard for a shoe to break in when its not worn. They need to be worn and the more they are worn the better they feel.

Every 're-released retro wether it's OG GR colorway, or even NA remastered OG they will all be different in some way or another. We can only hope for better softer material, correct netting angle/size, and shape but I'm also hoping for them to fix the height on the tongue its too tall. I still need my #1 favorite J '99 Blk/cmnt NA IVs.

real leather doesn't have to be tumbled to be soft

Shoot I'd take JB doing us the disservice of releasing Oreo-esque tumbled leather on white cements if it means we won't have to stomach that garbage from 2012. I know what I just said is blasphemy to ask for an OG colorway in non-OG materials, but the 2012s were that bad

I suspect it will be the '12 shape, as they haven't changed any molds for any remastered 4s this year.  It will be better leather (not tumbled).

Damn I haven't seen any remaster iv in person but wtf did they remaster if they kept that banana shape?

Good question!  I have the Teals, Lasers, and Oreos.  The Teals and Lasers have nice soft leather.  The Oreos look great even though the leather is not really soft to touch.  The workmanship (stitching, glue, etc.) is much improved from what I can see.  Do they meet expectations of what remastered should be...absolutely not...shape is nowhere near OG, and mesh is still wrong.  I still like the look and comfort of them though, and enjoy wearing them....

http://sneakernews.com/2014/08/29/r...s-inside-air-jordan-retro-remaster-program/2/ a good read on the remastering.

I see the whole things as a marketing ploy just to raise prices .

These retros look nothing like the OG's and that was the main focus, and the whole thing about loosing OG molds is BS, its not hard to get an OG pair break it down and copy the mold,at least it shouldn't be for a billion dollar company with almost unlimited resources.

I feel like my Oreos IVs are a different and better mold than my bred IVs
I totally agree, both of mine are size 9 and the Breds pinch my pinky toe like crazy! On the other hand, as I previously mentioned, the Oreo's fit like a dream.
