Nike Air Jordan 4 Retro "White/Cement" - The Aftermath - NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING

And that's why you end up begging for someone to hook you up with a pair

My family is like @NEWGODFLOW  's so I only get one raffle compared to people who bring their whole clan; I'm sure you could guess who would win out of me and the other person.
THIS (in internet threads) means "I agree" so I agree with what those two said.

AirSak feels he's one of the OG in NT and he does what he wants

I'm not an OG by any means and of course I do what I want because I'm my own person my friend

Man, the 1999's were JUST SOOOOOO ****** BEAUTIFUL...

I'm lost for words. If only we could just get a PROPER shape and mold of those retros, I'd be cool.
It doesn't have to be OG, I wish it could be, but I'd take the '99 retro mold ALL DAY. No complains... But, all we're able to get for $220, is the shape and mold below...

Although the toebox has gotten a MAJOR improvement, the shape and height is still...

But, like most have said already, all pics that have been posted so far are fakes... So I'll wait until more pics are posted to give a better opinion.

Personally I believe that JB could get the shape like OG for several reasons, one is that they probably have samples or OG Jordans in their DNA lab which they could use to get the shape right, second, the Bordeaux 7s from July was getting pretty close to the OG shape (despite some differences), and third JB has to do something to keep their customers coming back for more.

Just a theory. JB has been running their business using a framework that allows them to re-release the same stuff over and over again and the consumers(who are unconsciously slaves to JB and yearning for the OG) will continue to buy because of the false promise of a better version being released down the line. For this release, they have the shape the consumers don't want and the leather they dont like, but they have the Nike air and a little lighter grey. JB will release these next Feb for $220 and a pretty decent amount of pairs. While everyone will buy, there are still people who won't get then and consumers who want the aformentioned visual differences to be corrected. In 2019, during the Air Jordan 4s 30th Anniversary, JB will re-release all of the other OG 4s with every OG detail except for these, they'll wait till 2021 to retro again perfect but the amount of pairs will be Limited and the price will be $260, opening up the possibility for JB to cash in a few years down the line with a mass release again.

Infinite reps to u @jaylaw15, I've been thinkin' the same thing. Which is also why I might sit out on this release. I know they're just goin' to come out again, and most likely with better quality. I just have to wait a lil' longer, and really 2019 isn't that far away. I really want the Black Cements anyways, and my gut is tellin' me that those will drop next year. All I really know is that I'm tired of fallin' for Nike/JB's okey doke. Like u said, the consumers who are unconsciously slaves who are actually LUSTIN' after a sub-par product.

For all they know Jordan could get caught getting weird with kids or something and the whole thing is finished. If they were wise they'd release them the right way right now because if they're thinking about sales this hard then they're trying too hard. They have no idea what the future holds, things happen, trends change, they should strike while the iron's hot and develop customer appreciation a little better if they want that 50 billion a year to happen. If a new customer buys his first Jordans why not make that guy a customer for life by supplying him with what the shoe is supposed to be with the quality that makes him feel like he's wearing 220 dollar shoes ffs. The jerking around is ridiculous and completely obnoxious. The poor execution isn't helping them, and if they think it is then they're seriously mistaken.

Seriously though, Nikes should really be made in USA if they want enough public attention to hit that 50 billion per year mark. That kind of domestic love would do more for their public image than any amount of commercials could do. It would also cut down on fakes dramatically.

I can actually see this as a possibility, think about it the same thing has happened with the Chicago 1s.

it all makes sense! How many of us bought the infrared 6s again last year after being disappointed in 2010? Only to be disappointed again in 2014. The next infrared 6 will have the Nike air but no Durabuck, or if it does it'll be like the 2012 Raptor 7ss with one piece of Durabuck conveying the whole shoe and not have the smooth durabuck heel the OG had. JB could already release those 3 more times with each version getting closer to the 2000 version, I men the "OG". How about the White Cement 3s!, the true to OG form Chicago 10s with no 45 and no checkered sock liner is prob in the way in a few as well. JB is playing us but
Tbh it's so hard to back away. It feels impossible because " no one is pointing a gun at our heads " so it's my choice right?

JB has been poppin and trending for 30(more or less becuae let's be real, Jordan's didn't really become the hottest **** until the 90s) and has a fan base in the millions across the world. Idk when Jordan's will ever not trend.

I think adult responsibilities will force me out (graduate college in may '16)

yall are really overestimating the amount of people that care about "shape", the average Jordan consumer doesn't know or doesn't care if the height isn't the same as it was over 20 years ago. No one gives a damn about speckle density or the color being slightly changed... if everyone that cared about these details stopped buying, they'd still sell out just as fast.

I personally didn't even consider buying last years infrareds because of the jumpman and the blue tint on the soles. And they're my favorite Jordans. Like I said, the method of rereleasing shoes with more slight differences toward OGs every time is stupid if thats what they're doing. The shoes will be purchased regardless why F around with the model? How does that create hype? Seems like it would do more damage by losing faithful customers along the way. Not to mention the fact that most of the demand isn't even met as it is. Those people would still want the shoe 3 or 4 years later even if it were the exact same especially if it was exactly like the OG.

Yep we all know this. It sucks, but what are you gonna do? You can just wait until 2024 when they finally release it 100% perfect.

those ppl needs the DeLorean Time Machine, not Nike to retro them.

Well said, repped. I've been doing this since 89 (first pair Fire red IV, 500+ pairs owned) and I don't really care about those little details either. Its the memory that the shoes invoke and the nostalgia created that do it for me. I'm married with a mortgage, so many other things on my mind to concentrate on.

Once I start wearing these and get the first scuff, those details really become irrelevant.

this is a sad reality fam

i for one dont need to buy every iteration of a colorway just to have every detail perfect. these white/cement 4s coming out next year will be good enough for me. i only care about the color, speckle density, and slanted netting. and keep in mind that every retro this year has had a heel bump, these wont be any different. meaning that it wont be slanted straight down like the pictures floating around have looked.

and you shouldnt judge pics prematurely. the fake shattered backboards that were surfacing on these unauthorized seller sites looked drastically different from the final product.

The picture you seen are unauthorized versions, these are probably just getting into production and people are going by what they see first instead of waiting for official pictures.  You never know what might happen with these but people keep going by authorized pictures of course they're going to be disappointed.  Wait until the official pictures come out and see.

ever heard of a sample?..

Here's all I can say about shape and keeping shoes the same. Reebok has been making the Classics the exact same since the early 80's with that cheap paper leather and crappy velcro straps. K-Swiss has made the same classic white low tops for an eternity and they haven't changed. Adidas has been making the shell toes and Stan Smiths identical since the 70's and 80's. Hell the AF1 coke whites are no different than from '82. So what is so hard about it for JB to make a retro exact. They did it in the mid 90's. What makes 20 years later so different.

It's not hard for them, they could make it EXACTLY like the 1989 White Cement 4's. They choose not to, like myself and others have said in this thread before. They can milk more money out of their customers if they make small changes each release to keep you coming back. It's the truth.

People on NT also tend to forget that retros are NOT the only thing JB sells, and JB makes much more money on everything else they sell. Fact is, we are in the minority when it comes to JB's customer base, and therefore they really don't need to cater to us. And to make matters worse, like you said, most people who are buying retros don't really give a **** about the quality or details.

I disagree. I would say Jordan retro's make up 50% or more of Jumpman/Jordan Brand. Nobody is standing in line for any non 1-14 retro Jordan or Jordan clothing item. All none retro Jordans sit on shelves or end up on clearance racks at Nike outlets. I see it all thee time. And most people would rather buy Nike apparel over Jordan apparel to be honest. I don't even look at Jordan apparel even it does match the shoe.

Also there are tons of people outside NT that feel the same way, you can't tell me all the people I saw all over IG twitter and other sneaker blogs and forums come from NT. Many other people pass on retros for so called trivial issues on shoes just like we do. If that wasn't the case, why would they change the 7s shape half way through the year back to the OG (very close) or even fix the netting on the 4? They all have sold out anyway right? JB knows how we think and knows how to release their stuff over and over again so that we'll keep buying. This shoe is releasing for the 2 time in only 4 years! JB is smart, and these differences def do matter to many buyers outside of NT. NT is not the small group of people who pay attention to details

That's because 16/17s haven't dropped... :smokin
