Madden 16 PS4 League - Preseason starts after first roster update

WAR ROOM: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

image.jpg

While the San Francisco 49ers failed to win more than seven games in any Madden 15 League season, they certainly didn't lack in the entertainment category.

After winning a non-league grudge match for the rights to the San Francisco franchise against then-49er owner Jewel, @BuckingBronco would take over the Niners in Season 2 after spending his first year in Denver, where he nearly made the playoffs at 8-8.

It was with the Niners that Vic would establish a reputation as the league's lightning rod, often doing something - whether it be his actions on the field, or his comments and remarks off of it - that would prove every bit hilarious as it would controversial. The one instance which comes to mind over all the others was the infamous #SafetyGate during a Season 3 against the Carolina Panthers, in what was my first game back after missing five that season. Vic came out firing, and jumped out to a commanding and very surprising 21-0 lead at the half. I managed to tie the game at 21 with less than 15 seconds remaining in the game before the unthinkable happened; on the subsequent kickoff, Vic ran out of the endzone...before intentionally running back in, and through, the end zone, giving up the decisive safety in an effort to secure a higher draft pick. The levels of outrage, as you could imagine, were at an all-time high.

Now, Vic takes over the Niners again in Madden 16. Is the world ready for what he has in store for us this year?

:pimp: STRENGTHS :pimp:

Last Madden, Vic proved he had the capability to beat some of the league's best, with victories agains Miami, Seattle, and Pittsburgh on his resume. This year, he aims to do the same with an offense led by QB Colin Kaepernick. Along with tight end Vernon Davis, Vic will have the talents of a pair of ex-Raven wideouts in Anquan Boldin and offseason signee Torrey Smith, as well as that of running backs Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush.

The Niners defense has undergone a bit of change in the offseason, as former Cardinal DT Darnell Dockett and '15 first-round pick Arik Armstead join Glenn Dorsey up front. The linebacking corps has taken a devastating hit (which we'll get to in a moment) but young standouts NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith return and will still be a fearsome duo. The Niner secondary should be solid this year, led by the safety tandem of Eric Reid and Antoine Bethea.

:smh: WEAKNESSES :smh:

The 49ers have suffered on the defensive end thanks to numerous offseason retirements, from players such as Justin Smith, Chris Borland and the great Patrick Willis. With such being the case, it remains to be seen if Vic can find the right players to replace the voids that these developments have created.

Also, with Vic himself being a, for lack of a better term, headline maker of sorts, will his actions possibly prevent him from being able to play all 16 games in Season 1 and beyond? With a knack for ending up on the wrong end of league discipline, and in a division where one loss can make all the difference this year, Vic will have to remain in good behavioral standing if he is to have a chance to be a factor out west.

:smokin TORETTO'S TAKE: 5-11 :smokin

There will be a lot of laughs courtesy of the Niners in Season 1, and there will also be a few upset wins in the making if competitors sleep on Vic. However, a more likely possibility is that Vic decides to tank in order to get a higher draft pick again; you never know with him. Outside of a mind-boggling amount of neck rolls being present, I don't know what to expect from the Niners this year...maybe that's a good thing. :nthat:

:pimp: NEXT: MIAMI DOLPHINS :pimp:

22stylez 22stylez It was never a dull moment! You'd honestly have to see some of the stuff we saw last Madden to believe it man

WAR ROOM: MIAMI DOLPHINS

image.jpg

For the first two seasons in the Madden 15 League, the Miami Dolphins were easily a top-3 team, in terms of both record and pure skill. How they failed to appear in any of the five Super Bowls that were played is still a great mystery, in retrospect...

After all, they had beaten the Chiefs, 7-0, in the regular season before narrowly losing on a last-minute drive to those same eventual Season 1 World Champions in the AFC Title Game...a game that Miami had the upper hand in for much of the evening.

Then, there was Season 2's Divisional Round game against the Ravens, where the Dolphins quickly went up 14-0 before the connection was lost, which led to the game being started over. Following #ConnectionGate, Miami would go on to lose to Baltimore, who would go on to the Super Bowl before losing to Seattle.

The loss seemed to take the wind out of Miami's sails, as they wouldn't win more than 9 games in any of the remaining season's last Madden; a loss to Pittsburgh in Season 3's Wild Card Round would be the last time we would see the Phins in the playoffs, as a clear dropoff in motivation led to a 6-10 conclusion in Season 5...

But this year, dabottom305 dabottom305 , creator of the NT Madden League, who also is the originator and Grandmaster of the [emoji]127760[/emoji]#System[emoji]127760[/emoji], is out for blood in '16. In the AFC East, which shapes up on paper to be the league's best, the competition will be more fierce than ever. Now, more equipped for Madden glory than ever, can Bottom return to the level of prominence which preceded him upon the start of last year's league?

:pimp: STRENGTHS :pimp:

This year's incarnation of the Dolphins features multiple upgrades over last year's team - and they weren't so bad on paper, either. In for departed TE Charles Clay (now in Buffalo) is ex-Cleveland Brown Jordan Cameron, who will be a terrorizing assignment for AFC defenses. The Phins lost explosive-yet-mercurial wideout Mike Wallace via trade, but Miami now boasts a better, younger collective receiving corps, with the additions of former Saint Kenny Stills, veteran Greg Jennings, and first-round draft pick Davante Parker to go with '14 draftee Jarvis Lamdry. Lamar Miller looks to be the feature back after a breakout 1100 yard season in 2014, and QB Ryan Tannehill enters his fourth season in the 305 after a 2014 campaign which saw him throw for 27 TDs and only 12 INTs.

Offensive lines across the league are going to have a whole lot of trouble trying to make the pocket a humble abode for their quarterbacks against the Miami defensive front, which brings in the rugged ex-Lion Ndamukong Suh to help DEs Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon create an even more imposing force up front. Mike linebacker Koa Misi leads a young second unit which can only benefit from Suh's presence. The same applies to the secondary, where CB Brent Grimes and safeties Reshad Jones and Louis Delmas should continue to mix veteran savvy with youthful playmaking ability.

:smh: WEAKNESSES :smh:

While the Dolphins field impressive starting units on both sides of the pigskin, it's fair to question the depth at running back. Beyond Miller rests Damien Williams, LaMichael James, Mike Gillislee and fifth-round pick Jay Ajayi, all of whom are either unproven or feature more name than game, in the case of James thus far in his career. The Phins also may be concerned about the durability of Tannehill, who was injured far too often during the course of last Madden.

Beyond that, with the war of words with new division rival jayfiend jayfiend at an all-time high, let's take a quick look at one half of the back-and-forth which has taken the NT Madden world by storm...

:smokin TORETTO'S TAKE: 12-4 :smokin

Sometimes you need that rest period during or after the grind of multiple seasons in order to recharge and, ultimately, display your best product on the Madden field with a consistency that's rivaled by few. That's what I think the case is with Bottom and his Phins...and rest assured that this just isn't the #System in me talking. Simply put, when the man is motivated, he's firmly in the elite tier of players...and I see no shortage of drive this year. Good money says that, in Season 1, the AFC Playoffs may just have to go thru the 305 once more...:nthat:

:pimp: NEXT: BUFFALO BILLS :pimp:

12-4?

I know 2 of those Ls are to me... So I guess that means I'm predicted to go 13-3? :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

And he fell off because everybody caught on to his bubblegum Offense... I expect the same results as his last few years no more than 9 wins... And forgotten about... As I dominate th AFCE... Soon is gonna be "DaBottom"? Yea I remember that guy he was ok until King MessiaH came and took over " [emoji]128526[/emoji]

12-4?
