2016 Civic Starts at $19,475 - Coupe Revealed

They still making Civic type Rs but can't make a sport Accord coupe

Go home Honda

what would the sport accord coupe have? i mean there is a v6 accord.

Not the same tho papi.

If Honda were to make an Accord Coupe in a sport/Type R branding, its got to have everything this Civic has and more.

Same sports body kit package, bigger beefier brakes, 18 inch sport alloy wheels, upgraded suspension, a turbo, and high RPMs just like the NSX/S2000.

It doesn't have to be out here breaking records, but at least make it powerful and fun to drive. Honda has the nicest affordable entry-level coupe right now. It would be nice to see them offer a 300+ HP edition Accord rather than continuing to waste the effort on these civics.

Just my opinion though. Theres enough of a proven following and loyalty to the Accord, and a Type R or whatever they would want to call it would not hurt the company. Especially if they're willing to keep making these Civics.

The Honda hate is real in here....

Would def trade in my '14 Civic for the White Type R

Those numbers gotta be wrong…it's making 335i numbers and only does 0-60 in 5.7? I guess the FWD can't lay down the power…

Looks like a very interesting car…i wish we were getting the hatch version, no desire for the coupe. It'll just end up in the hands of ricers anyway.

Nah, I feel it. They did have the Euro R (TSX albeit with a different engine). But yeah, an Accord with the Type R treatment would be nice.

You guys think people be willing to pay $40k-$45k for an Accord R? I think the V6 already starts at $30k bone stock.

I think Honda is still testing the waters with this Type R especially in the US, that also seems evident by making it a coupe for the US market instead of the hatchback.

The Civic Type R is ~£30k to start and in the US it might be a bit more than that so it'll show Honda how much in demand it is then maybe they'll move to the Accords?

I do think the Civic has overwhelmingly more fans and following than an Accord so I think it'll sell better in comparison.

What do you guys think?

I learned the v6 accord is actually pretty fast a while back
I'm sure a type r would be nuts

I realize FWD cars don't have the same acceleration as RWD cars, but only 5.7 seconds with 306 hp seems like a joke.

It's more cause of the torque. It's probably electronically limited. Tires would probably just spin out if it didn't.

That's pretty lame. Seems almost pointless to have the power then, unless you're trying to pass a car on the highway.

It's not that fast. I have the 2015 and I mean for me it's okay. Merging on the highway is a lot better compared to my previous 4 cylinder lol

Why not? It looks pretty similar to the S660 that recently came out in Japan (which is slow but also only cost about $15k translated to USD).
