Doubt they would revive the S2k as a MR. I'd guess it's probably an NSX refresh already in the works since the 2016 is already a nearly 10 year old design.
Maybe it is a US spec S660... any figures on the dimensions?

Reports last week was that it might just be the next S2000.
Some reports are also stating it could be revealed in LA at the end of this year.

In LA, the Japanese carmaker introduced the sedan model that will kick off the range later this year, followed by a coupe, high-performance Si models, the aforementioned 5-door hatchback, and another first for the US market, a Civic Type R model to rival the Ford Focus RS. The latter is believed to carry a version of the European model's (built in Ohio) 306hp 2.0-liter turbo four.
Honda didn't give us much information on the new Civic's two engines. There's a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated, VTEC four-cylinder as well as the first turbocharged Honda mill to come to the US, a 1.5-liter four. There will also be a pair of continuously variable transmissions. That, though, is just the stuff made in North America. We expect Honda to flesh out the powertrain lineup – including, we hope, a manual gearbox – at the big drive program, slated for later this month.

It was a redesign. The 9th gen civic was made from 2012-2015. It was facelifted in 2013 because of poor sales

Overall silhouette reminds me of the new Maxima, like a sportback sedan, probably something we'll see more of in the near future.
I am not sure why Honda keeps on insisting hiding the exhaust, I get it that they want to make the read look cleaner but I feel that the exposed exhaust/exhaust tips makes the back much nicer and adds some sportiness breaks up the monotonous back that most often only has the tailights and tailpipes as the highlights.
From the get go though, seems like these are much more well received than the last gen... so far.
