Official Fallout 4 Thread - Release - 11.10.15

Man, make sure you keep copper on deck and scrap everything.

Those at the drive in scrap every car, you'll be able to build a massive wall around the complex no raider will be able to mess with it.

Make sure your people that have farms have some type of defense, so they don't die.

God I feel like I can play this game forever even when I beat the story mode and quest.

Is it important in the story to have a good base?  I just did the bare minimum for that first quest and stuck a few turrets in front of my main house

Make sure to pick up any overdue books you run across, you can trade them for tokens and redeem them for items including a fusion core.

Where can I find more power cores and Rad-away? I need the power armor on every mission. I get killed easily without it just wandering around in basic armor.

Diamond City, you can purchase 5 or so cores and plenty of
Radaway at the various shops.

Oh and what are the two perks that extend the core's energy?
It's actually one perk and one Bobble Head,Repair Bobble Head increases it by 10% and the Nuclear Physicist perk increases it by 100% with both of those they should last around 44 minutes each.

Pretty sure it's a major part of the story, to build large thriving communities of minutemen.

Have any of you guys gotten the achievement of getting 100% happiness in a settlement? I'm struggling. Sanctuary has good food, water, very high defense, plenty beds, stores, ...
The highest I've gotten to is 84% but now it's down to 52%, what gives?
I'm probably gonna try to focus more on The Slog, they've been at a constant 70 happiness without me doing much.

first things first; this game delivered.

It's everything it was supposed to be, with unlimited potential.

I just realized the work benches are not unified

Now my loot is scattered everywhere >:

why did I store all junk in a quest power armor station, thinking it was all unified? LOL

I kinda like how they broke it up tho, it's already WAAAAAAY too easy to come up with the materials to build things

to the dude asking about which place is best, I REALLY like the boathouse, but you have to upgrade your leader perk to 2 if you want to build workbenches (it has none)

I spent like 2.5 hours building a fence around sanctuary completely, only to realize that it doesn't boost defense....at all. Threw 4 turrets on the streets and went up to like 16 LOL

SMH

that's the expensive route.

I've used the power armor for the first mission (and ran out of power before I killed the deathclaw LOL)

and haven't touched it since.

Did Codsworth pronounce of your names right?

I thought that was pretty cool

always make chicks. he calls her by her middle name, Sophia. it's swag.

Bro my power armor got robbed the same mission I got it :x I ran out of ammo on the mini gun and was draking out I couldn't draw my 10mm so I got out the suit and some fool came and took it, I killed him and then I couldn't get the armor back, someone tell me I can get another one!

you get another suit, no spoilers.

There needs to be a way to recharge a fusion core instead of finding and eventually running out of them..only 44 scattered on the map seems limited..

well, someone will release a mod.

also, limiting the amount of power cores forces you to use it as a "special weapon" instead of always walking around in it. (I've not used it specifically to not run out of power cores)

Don't like the "play on survival = get rare items" because you can't break the items and take their powers. I got like 10 melee weapons and I don't melee. (I DID get a light metal arm plate which allows me to go invisible when crouched and still. :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: only reason I haven't started over yet) Also, they took away the "need to eat, drink, sleep" which I REALLY enjoyed. (would only drink pure water and non-radiated food)

Definitely have to change my initial SPECIAL numbering and leveling from my new vegas strategy.

Kinda salty they took away skill points (it allowed for much deeper customization and variety in playstyles/character types)

I had intelligence, agility and luck at 8.

I need perception at 4, (for lockpicking)
I need endurance at 1, (for Damage Resist)

I think I can get by with 6 intelligence (the level of the Science tree)
I like the agility, pretty sure I run faster and jump higher with each level. (plus I use VATS a lot)
and I can prolly put luck down to 7 (I believe that's grim reaper's spirit, which is CLUTCH)

trying to decide if I want to try to put strength at 4 too, I typically don't use ANY strength whatsoever (unless theres a gun I cant control) but they attached the "armorer" perk tree under strength. If you want to mod your power suit you need armorer.

The game is amazing. First game in a looooooooong time to exceed expectations.

Game only failed 2 times on me too, and I haven't had any issues with loads or saves or glitches.

:pimp: @ diamond city having a plastic surgeon that's only 100 caps (I used to start over if I got annoyed by flaws in the face, and you couldn't re-do the face....so this is major lol) You can also add scarring and greying real-time, to age your character.

I've been stacking perks, because I'm very choosy of the perks, so I wait until I'm a higher level = more high-level perks, as opposed to low level ones.

oh, btw, going on level 21, took a break to check my emails.

Don't stress your SPECIAL too much, you can add a point every time you level up instead of choosing a perk if you want.

not smart. you have a limited amount of perks, so using them to level up special instead of an active perk is a waste. To be the best you can be, try to develop a strategy of leveling depending on your playstyle

Spent all my time building and fortifying Sanctuary. Forgot there was a story.

wasted at least 2 Ls on the boathouse and building a fence around sanctuary (which didn't even boost the defense)

I figure, later in the game, there will be wars or raids, and it'll be WAY easier with a wall lol

I tried building a wall around it but I don't seem to have enough supplies. I built a pretty tall defense building by the welcome sign, maybe that's a bit too far out.

Do I need to find supplies outside of Sanctuary?

What's a good level to take "The Caste" back with Preston

Also what level should I head to Diamond City

Everything I've read, said they are no level cap so I was just going crazy with them :nerd:
