My New Whip Vol. I Call Her Cool Whip...Da Hemi

Nice! Jesus these are so ******* expensive that Idk if I would've dropped that for a Dodge but they're legit. You lease it or what?

What the hell bro? I thought you were coppin a Porsche? You lie dude! You lie! LIAR! :wow:

I love this generation Durango irregardless of price point. Obviously this wasn't a prestige buy, this was all about utility, but it's utility in a cool package that has some sport to it. She has a perfect 50/50 front rear weight distribution, RWD, and 390 lb ft of torque, but still has a 3 rd row seat that I at 6'6 can fit in. I can tow up to 7400 pounds and I have the heavy duty oil cooler and engine cooling to handle a big tow load. To put it simply this is my hybrid pickup truck and people mover at a price point that will not take away from the house I'm going to buy and my future personal sports car purchase . It's all about trade offs when you aren't a millionaire

Little known fact, Mercedes had their hand in helping to develop the Grand Cherokee and the Durango. It shows too. There are a few features usually only found in higher end vehicles like cylinder deactivation so that only 4 cylinders out of the 8 are working when you are at steady speed, and it has the same 8 speed auto transmission that's found in Benz and a few other luxury nameplates. Also the technology package is very upscale.

Shoulda got a jeep grand Cherokee srt8

I love the Grand Cherokee, but I wanted 3rd row seating. I have offspring my dude

Oh and the exhaust note is beastly!! When you accelerate at full throttle using the paddle shifters you hear the bubbling backfire between shifts and it can give a grown man an erection. Reminds me of the sound when I was test driving the 911 Turbo S

Now that I've gotten used to driving it here's my perceptions.

This vehicle has changed my entire viewpoint on what's luxury and what isn't. The reality is that the lines are blurred. The list of features and technology and safety is the same and even better than a lot of the luxury plate vehicles.

Driving dynamics: The big difference between the Citadel and the R/T is the driving dynamics. The Citadel sits higher and has a more cushy supple suspension which isn't bad if that's your thing. The R/T sits lower and has the sports tuned suspension. Let me quantity that. The R/T taking a curve at higher than average speeds for an SUV stays almost completely flat with no leaning to the side and no shaking. The leather wrapped steering wheel is thick and meaty and the steering effort 8s heavy at high speeds which is how you want it. The brakes on this are really grabby, again for a heavy SUV that's almost as long as a Suburban.

Da Hemi exhaust sound which is specially tuned for the R/T (the demographics for those buying a Citadel usually doesn't care about exhaust note) sounds so deep and rumbly. When you open up full throttle the backfire sounds Viper/Vette like. This is on some serious testosterone steez.

The technology package is extensive...touch screen in the center console that has diwnloadable apps, SiriusTraffic, a weather app that shows the weather pattern for tge route for the trip you might take, Bluetooth streaming, a SD card slot, USB slot, and the standard Aux port. It has it's own Wifi Hotspot for passengers in the truck (only 3G, but unlimited and good enough), and it has an iOS and Android app that let's you remote start tge vehicle from your smartphone. The dual fold down LCD has Blu-Ray and seperate HDMI inputs so that one passenger can watch a movie and the other one plays a PS4 or XBOX One. It also comes wity 2 pair of wireless headphones and a remote control. There's a standard house plug outlet to plug a gaming system or laptop directly with no adapter.

All of these features including a 390 lb ft torque engine with cylinder deactivation for fuel economy and a flexible 8 speed transmission that has a twist to drive gear select with paddle shifters for only $40k is an incredible value...especially when they throw in painted black 20s and some low profile Goodyears. Also the sound system is made my Beats by Dr. Dre.

This thing is heavy on the streets like a Challenger, Charger, Maro, old 7 Series. Especially when it's blacked out or White and blacked out. A total Yamb magnet, and dudes be mirin too.

So did you get drafted to a team and buy this with your baller money?

OH **** that's only $40K? I've seen 2012-2013 Grand Cherokee SRT8's for $50K plus. For some reason I was thinking close to $60k. That is a really good deal
