Quitting Coffee

I've never been a coffee person, can't stand the taste of it

. I just wake up and go.

But, not to sound stupid, I'm curious to hear what made so many of you start drinking it in the first place? 

I get the whole caffeine part, but is coffee that necessary for people to "function" or is it just a breakfast drink that people enjoy and then slowly can't live without?

hated being dependent on caffeine.. i take cold showers in the AM or sometimes even at work if i feel sluggish.. spikes adrenaline. feelsgoodman.
 
Took adderall once, and had a cup of coffee... Never again, was clueless as to what that combination would do to me. :lol:
 
coffee just gets me moving better...

the thing about adderal is that you have to want to be motivated, or else it won't have any effect...i tried it once when attempting to write a paper back thinking it would help me finish  in a quicker but it didn't do ****, i still procrastinated a lot...
 
my boss drinks 4 cups a day, always has a cup in his hand

I drink tea every morning, have coffee maybe once or twice a week

i feel like im drunk on it sometimes
 
Nothing wrong with coffee, worst thing is your teeth get discolored. I drink mostly for the flavor, but I'd say just lower your intake.
 
coffee helps me poop

I drink about 4 cups a day. No sugar or cream.

I don't see myself quitting coffee.
 
OP I stopped drinking NRG drinks EXACTLY 1 year ago tomorrow. For My Health too.
I quit Cold Turkey, but I still drink Coffee. If you want to quit coffee too just let me know I'll quit with you that way we can watch eachothers backView media item 1564607
 
It's all in your head bro, go to sleep at night. People really think they NEED coffee in the morning. Coffee and energy drinks are the biggest cons, they don't really benefit you :smh:
 
Actually there are a lot of benefits to drinking coffee...

I used coffee to ween me off Soda...

I'm ok with that. It's healthier. Only drink it black, Venti Iced Americano, no cream, no sweetener.

If I slept a consistent 7-8 hours, I probably wouldn't need it. However, since I'm living the American Dream... no chance. :lol:

I'm fortunate to get 8 hours on Sunday... I love Sunday. :smokin

I honestly don't see any reason to stop drinking coffee... it's a big part of our culture... my parent's are in their 60's, my grandparents lived until their late 70's. Coffee in the morning was normal, coffee with bread was normal. Coffee with dinner was normal.

Coffee does absolutely nothing for me besides give me a stomachache and make my pee smell like coffee. I don't mess with the stuff

drink coffee

have no other liquids

then go peepee again... u aquire coffee scented smelling peepee

Actually, I have....

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify, I am an active person (workout regularly) and eat relatively healthy. I always eat a healthy breakfast, so that isn't the problem. As someone stated, I guess I'm addicted to the 'go' that coffee provides me. Hate the feeling of being sluggish, lazy, sleepy, etc., so coffee helps eliminate all of that. 

I'm going to try decreasing my intake and see where it goes from there. Trying not to drink more than twice a week (including weekends) As someone said, the couple days of withdrawal is very real.

And I don't see how some of you drink 4-5 cups a day. My heart would explode

The worst is that I've conditioned myself to HAVE TO HAVE coffee after every meal to help combat the itis

So now when I go to places like chipotle, I gotta stop by Starbucks or something right after
 
Gotta have at least two cups daily. Beer at night, coffee in the morning, water throughout the day. No sodas or juices though. And exercise daily. Coffee and beer are life. :nthat:
