2015 XXL Freshman Lists

rapsody shouldve made it rest are done i wonder why Electronica never made it...prob delayin that too....i wish they had these back in 1990s that wouldve been really interesting when pun dmx ras kass master p canibus nas az snoop xzibit dogg pound outkast and when jay-z was ill...matter of fact imma do i dont need no XXL

man these rappers today are very forgettable no legacy to be attained they all sound the same....weird thing is they all wanna sound the same...thats why when you hear a kendrick or jcole people put them on some kind of hip hop pedistal in the 90s early 2000 they wouldve been cool but it was so much competition out they wouldnt have been as successful and rap was just at its most balanced place back then now since the southerners moved everybody just wanna dance not create substance...

They had to throw some hipster rappers and Kidd Kidd over my man Dolph and Bankroll Fresh though?

Agree with this. Hip hop artist today want to sound the same more than ever. You got r&b cats using the "migos flow". It's frustrating.

Still, Glizzy>>>>>>ALL on this list.

Shy Glizzy and Dej Loaf are the only 2 who's music I like granted i haven't heard of a few of these dudes

Y'all sleep on Vince Staples. _ is like Kendrick meets YG i.e. a socially and self aware gangsta rapper that can actually rap

I'm not saying he on his level lyrically, but I think if Kendrick was a young crip _ from Long Beach that banged this is prolly the type of **** he would be making. I'm surprised he even made the Freshman list, I think his music might be a lil too raw for the mainstream

Don't compare Vince to YG. Vince is an ELITE lyricist

I feel for young fans of hip-hop these days. The selection out there is questionable (ex: this list).

Yea Vince more like earl's lyricism with Jay Rock's grittness.

Yeah Jay Rock is a better comparison than YG

I'm still saying Kendrick tho because he's socially and self aware, rapping about growing up in the hood and his lyrics are more direct (his older **** is at least). Earl is tryna be more like a MF Doom type of rapper lyrically
