I assume it didn't all happen in one night. Remember the safe zone Pilcher set up for the 1st generation was well stocked and had mad guns.
They probably waited until the adults tried to take back the town from the abbies and then attacked. I imagine it went down in a pretty corny The Walking Dead sort of way.
Then they put the adults in stasis, cleaned up the town, and released the ppl from group C to start anew.
Like I said there was only so many ways this could've ended and M. Night hasn't changed. Son is the poor man's GRRM.

Buck shot spray probably aint get stuck in him or he had some medical attention before being put back in jail.
I thought he was dead when he was shot but given how it ended they needed an antagonist guy to lead the 1st generation with that crazy ideology.
I thought it was one in done. 10 ep limited series
Plus the way its formatted it might be anthology like. So whole new cast if a 2nd season is green lit.

I loved it. I was hooked from the pilot. Spent the last weekend finishing it up. I felt each moment of each episode had me close to the edge of my seat. Cliffhangers at the end of each episode as well. The story makes you think overall on what you would personally do if you were in that situation. Highly recommend.

I just read an interview with M. Night about the show and it sounds like there'll be a S2.

So much for one and done. Thought this'd be like Gracepoint or at least an anthology like AHS and Fargo and yeah there'll mostly be a new cast in S2 but the familiar faces are a bunch of kids that piss me off looking at them (Ben, creepy gf, smug 1st generation president)

I liked the ending. Especially after reading about the book ending.
It could have been handled much better but the first generation was being bred to take over and were given the supplies to do so. Pincher was right, his ideas would live on. These weirdos spent many, many years being told how special they were and that they would save the human race.
Second season could and should explain the takeover.

Episode 6 now... the Dr. laying out the "truth" to Ethan... still not buying it... the timeline's throwing me off a bit tho cuz the Dr. was talking on the phone to Ethan's partner a few episodes ago. Hmmm...

I enjoyed it... but when I started, no way did I see where this show was headed... sci-fi?! Cryogenics, end of the world... and possibly time travel? And for a long time, I didn't buy the concept that they were 2000 years ahead. Hassler meeting with Pilcher threw me off, but I guess it happened before everything went to %&$#.

He begins focusing on people who are willing to leave their current lives behind for a better one in the future. People who can help him rebuild civilization. His “inner circle”. He finds a few. 4016: After two years, the town is rebuilt. Pilcher brings the first group of abductees, Group A, out of suspended animation. There is a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Main Street. He tells them the truth. Most don’t believe him. 26 escape and are killed by abbies. Those who do believe him commit suicide. The rules are changed. The adults can’t know the truth. Anyone who doesn’t follow the rules will be killed. Kill one to save the rest of the last of humanity.

Really? I don't know about thatToo much money on the table not to drop another season...even if it sucks.
This show didn't seem like a ratings hit.Especially when I look at the other shows FOX has given the green light. They're beginning to waste money just like NBC on bad new shows. They've gotten desperate and are now bringing back old hits (24, The X-Files, Prison Break, etc.)

Just finished watching last night, had it on the dvr for months. show was great up until the end.
A thought...the video system that theresa found...how old were those videos? they said they were from all over the country....the world was in ruins and abbies were everywhere....but I thought pilcher was the only one with survivors? So he was letting people out into the world? The agent was in san fran in his vid. wtf. how were people able to travel cross country? and in what if wayward had all the vehicles?
the son's gf looks like bruno mars. look at her and try not to see bruno now. you're welcome.
wife looks like thicker brie bella
matt dillon has a stupid face. son face been dumb as hell looking since something about mary
m. night blows.
show pulled back the curtain early af.
most states in the country are against capital punishment, pilcher was trying to build a society with the notion that public executions for talking is acceptable? da ****? foh b. son on that stalin ****.
i hated the nurse early in the show, but she's alright with me now.

I'm solely going off memory of a show I feel like I last saw 3months ago.
I think those vids of ppl were of those who escaped from the town and got killed. When they said it's like this all around the world, just thought they meant the abbies. It's also possible some of these vids aren't recent but right after the abbies started appearing.
If not then Pilcher been lying about being the genius with a vision.
