The Martian was definitely better than Interstellar. I enjoy Interstellar as a spectacle but if you try to break down the film it does not hold up. The Martian, although a much simpler story, is a more well rounded film.

except for visuals which is close, the martian is better than interstellar in every way possible

interstellar was very mediocre. it was a solid movie minus the ending being "I'm a mime trapped in box...inside a black hole, and now I've solved the universe", which killed it
made sense it was 74% on RT. about what I felt.
