I love space in general so I'm biased towards interstellar. Jus seeing a black hole on screen did it for me.

except for visuals which is close, the martian is better than interstellar in every way possible

Have to agree. From a science point this was obviously better, but the raw emotions and chaos of Interstellar was better to me. It really had me on the edge of my seat. The Martian never had my heart racing, i was never actually worried or awe struck by anything.

Interstellar was more exciting on the first viewing, but the love nonsense and the last 20-30 minutes make it hard to take the movie seriously when you really reflect on what you just watched.

I liked it but lets not kid ourselves. If it wasnt for the stellar cast this movie would be average. Honestly dont get the hype, also 8.3 on imdb is too high. More like 7.3.
