Virginia Police Harass Black Man For Eating Oatmeal In Car

In MN the ID's are flexible and there's a holographic image of a loon on it so bouncers and bartenders usually bend it and inspect it to make sure its not fake. Either way I think he was  trying to do his job. It didn't get physical, the officer didn't really yell at the guy, so I wouldn't call that harassment.

You drive by at hotel parking lot at night and you see a person in a car.
1. I'm sure there are people in cars in EVERY hotel parking lot at pretty much any hotel in the country.....

being in a parked car is not even probable cause according to the law....

so the assumption of trespassing is the cops PERSONAL judgement...

personal bias plays into this equation

2. no you don't have to hand over your ID.... as the gentleman in the video obviously proved by not doing so.

I'm sure there are people in cars in parking lots at hotels at night and how do you know the cops don't approach them too? not all interactions like this are recorded.

I don't know a whole lot about the law but wouldn't a person in a parked car on private property at night be probable cause?

Also the guy not handing over anything is why the officer didn't leave.

if the hotel was closed down or something, sure. but if it open for business what even gives him reason to justifiably be suspicious?

Once again, no it would not be probable cause. The police officer would have to have acknowledgement from the hotel manager as far as charging someone with trespassing...which the police officer clearly didn't have. Which is why the cop embarrassed himself in the process.

I was just in Charlottesville this week...and man I hardly saw any black people other than the staff at the hotel. Even caught some funny looks while walking the street.

I couldn't wait to get back to NC.

Cops with bruised egos, that's all it is, dudes have no clue how to handle someone that knows their rights and won't let them do as they please....straight up strip them of their power and these dudes are lost....

"You are a civil servant, so you work for me sir" :pimp:
