This thread is about recognizing some differences between Real and possible GM/UA/REPLICA/FAKE pairs of the 2015 Nike Air Jordan 1 Chicago.

This shoe apparently has in been in production for some time before release date especially with people who have been curious about pre ordering a pair where the authenticity is questioned. Ever since Nike has officialy canceled the online release and currently there are no plans for an online release (EDIT ndc the draw release 9/2015) please be aware of any potential unauthentic pairs that may be in circulation among many sites which may include ebay, kixify, gumtree, bigcartels and other site as well as mom and pop stores! This thread can also be used for future changes or enhancements in GM/UA/REPLICA/FAKE pairs.

TAKE PRECAUTION WHEN SPENDING YOUR MONEY ON ALL SHOES WHETHER IN PERSON, IN STORE, OR ONLINE. AUTHENTICITY THESE DAYS SHOULD ALWAYS BE QUESTIONED, VERIFIED AND CONFIRMED. Always use Paypal to handle any potential online problems so that you are covered.

2015 Nike Air Jordan 1 Chicago

I can easily say the counterfeiters are becoming more an more sharp as more jordans and nikes are produced. I hope you can tell from some of the pictures (some may be a little blury due to me standing and taking pics with a dslr and no tripod) that the counterfeit is about 90% "real" looking compared to a 100% authentic retail pair whether online or in store. Here are some pictures with a little commentary on the bottom.

  • Real pairs DO NOT HAVE AS MUCH PADDING on the ankle collar areas as fakes do
  • Real pairs have a little more soft feel around the varsity red leather areas, especially near the toeboxes than fakes do
  • Real pairs have a SLIGHTLY thicker tongue than fakes do and Real pairs DO feel SLIGHTLY softer than fakes
    do. Fake tongues are only SLIGHTLY more stiffer than real pairs.
  • Fake pairs smell more bad than real retail pairs. Serious.
  • Fake pairs come unlaced and most deadstock or new in box retail real pairs are knotted
  • The varsity red color on both pairs is ALMOST and I literally mean ALMOST the same looking color in person
  • The color of the red Nike swoosh font on the shoe box is only SLIGHTLY different hue. the real retail pair is a LITTLE more vibrant
  • Real pairs have a somewhat "stamped" in air jordan wings logo on the upper ankle side. fakes do not, they just look like a tattoo
  • Fake pairs have the swoosh stitching inside near the size and date tag
    [COLOR=#red]Fake/gm/ua/er releases have BLACK INNER SWOOSH STITCHING near size tag[/COLOR]
    However its possible REAL pairs MAY HAVE SOME INNER SWOOSH STITCHING, it may be subtle outline or red swoosh stitching
  • The stars on the fakes are more bunched together and there are more of them. Real pairs are a little spread out and evenly made and less present
  • Real boxes are actually slightly larger than fakes
  • The back part of the swoosh is slightly lower on the Real pairs and slightly higher on the fakes in the diagonal stitching
  • In the middle of the bottom sole where it says Nike swoosh for the fake pairs there are like these little L's or little L shaped type of lettering and it looks very messy compared to a real pair where its nice, neat, tightly together and uniform and even so it doesn't look like L shapes

That legit is the only dead giveaway, quick glance and i legit could get got if it werent for that

And the fake pair in some parts is superior to the Jimmy Jazz pair

and @ casper, I opened the real authentic pair at first and honestly my intuition at first told me the jj pair is 100% authentic. I opened the questionable box second and the first giveaway i looked at was the size label tag on the box.
Most jordans and nikes come with the removable ripoff msrp thing and the fakes did not have that.

from that point onwards I figured the mom and pops 10.5 was fugazi

fakes always pass the eye test. another thing to add is the tounge, fake tounges aren't stiff or stand up strong *pause*
 
All my pairs i have and others i have seen on here the production date starts on 12/10 and ends some time in February. That would have been another dead giveaway to me
 
thing is I hope the counterfeiters and lurkers don't eye this info and start making enhancements. this is getting out of hand if real supply is being dried up quick and it permits the fake market to keep making counterfeits at a bigger rate.

just wanted to give a heads up to people who are in the market for real pairs. watch out
 
The bags, the box tag, and the Swoosh stitching on the inside of the shoe are the biggest giveaways in my opinion. 
 
Last thing ima say is that yo fakes are getting out of hand for real, couple years ago it was easy to distinguish fake royals from legits but these are easily getting better

Pretty soon I feel like so many people will get scammed, I thought a big part of the remastered line is to make em not replicable
 
Those size tag labels are also what I've seen to be a sure way to see if they are fakes or not. They won't ever get the font right I hope.
 
Btw, that mom and pops store is doing illegal stuff. How is it okay to sell counterfeit items in an actual store at more than retail? :smh:

To others fake pairs ,as to say they're fakes of fakes :lol:
