Most Disappointing Careers In Hip Hop?

That song he had with Fatal, Cormega, and DMX was :pimp: :pimp: think it was on that How To Be A Player soundtrack
 
The Natural is a personal classic. His second album was trash.
Royal Flush's Ghetto Millionaire felt more like the follow up to The Natural then Vendetta.

Mic Geronimo's 2nd album was when Puffy started molding him...as we all know that did'nt work.

But to give him credit he was doing Love N' Hip Hop before anybody when he had that MTV episode with his chick.

The funniest story I remember hearing was Royal Flush talking about how he used to chump Mic G and was gonna rob him before they linked up.

Royal Flush was that dude..."First you drinking snapple now you sippin' moe?"

My List off the top of the head would be: Ras Kass,Jay Elec,Canibus,AZ (one of the most slept on ever),Cage,Peedi Crakk,Diamond D,Large Professsor,Goodie Mob,Homeboy Sandman,Planet Asia,BiggJus (Company Flow),Sporty Thieves (R.I.P. Brando),Styles of Beyond,MosDef,Tanya Morgan,Stalley,Black Sheep or just Dres,Tragedy for sure and like dude said above YOUNG CHRIS.

So many more i could name but this is a list of people whose CAREERS did not live up to their potential and talent. I don't think anybody on this list went full trashbag but I do think they did not go in like they could have. And anybody saying SNOOP,ANDRE3000,JADAKISS ect... you're bugging they did pretty well by any standard.

Juelz Satana is the first name that pops into my head when I think of most disappointing careers in Hip-Hop. Juelz had everything a major label would want in a mainstream rap artist at the time early 2000's, i think even if he were to come out today as a new artist (same style, flow, etc) he would be probably be where Meek is at and take his spot.

Blu (I have no idea what he is up to now, Below The Heavens is still one of the greatest albums )

Snoop Dogg (aint nobody checking for his music since 93)

50 Cent (his career could've have much greater if he was able to keep making quality music, I sorry but some of his singles he released post GRODT were str8 corny trash, and his albums were no where as good as GRODT or Guess Who's Back, his L against Kanye West for the most sales in 1 week was the biggest blow, not only for 50 but for gangster rap music, cause it showed labels that you don't need to be the gangster rapper no more to sale records.....after that a lot of backpack rappers started to form)

O.C. has 2 excellent/classic albums under his belt IMO. I'm not sure what more you can ask. A lot of well respected emcees can't say the same.

I wanted more sustained success for B.G. He had his demons, but he showed had plenty talent when he was young

There is so much truth to this. A lot of these dudes being mentioned were for the most part, underground. They may not have made it to bill bellamy's MTV jams, but they got plenty of love on Rap City.

Again, I'm not strictly talking about "winning" in the rap game. I'm talking about living up to your artistic potential.
 
Honestly... I feel like a lot of heads i know.. hiphop(rap these days) has passed me by for the most part..
 
I think memphis bleek can be added to the list. His verse on the Money, Cash, H*** remix was crazy. Had everyone thinking coming of age was going to be one serious album & boy were we decieved. Memphis bleak is a phenomenal featured artist, but as a solo artist he was a huge disappointment.

What happend to bleek?I don't even hear jay bring him up anymore.. I'm waiting for his youtube interview wear he "airs Hov out"

The last song i liked from him was "like that". I know he made a few decent reggaeton collabo's in 2006 & 2007. Don't know what happened to him after that.

Cats in here naming artists that had one hiccup in their career. One bad album or being low key for a few years does not mean they are a disappointment.

50, DMX, snoop??? Lol yall some tough critics of you can say their careers was a disappointment. Sure they could've done more, but sheesh. These dudes are in the hip hop hof.

I say young dro. Dude could've came with some more heat, but he let 2 chains goofy @&* take over his lane :smh:
