Go back to page 6, i posted my ancestry DNA results and it shows i have 10% Native american blood, so where do you supposed that came from ? :rolleyes

Also in the results says i have 23% African blood, so if i was negating my African roots, wouldn't i have hid that or something ?

I can only speak for myself bro, i don't know any Dominican personally that has ever denied being of African decent, not saying that they aren't out there or whatever. You can't ball a whole country in to one category and judge everyone because of some ignorant people.

Don't pretend like you've never heard a Dominican person refer to themselves as Spanish

You still can't give a reason why acknowledge them at all.

Spain don't give a damn about you but you acknowledge and respect that lineage.

I don't understand why you can't understand that you can be as Dominican as you want while not reppin' the spanish lineage.

The hate is strong in here. If you call a Puerto Rican and Cuban black they would deny it as well and say they are Puerto Rican and Cuban or just Latinos. And ain't no Dominican refers to them selves as Spanish, we refer to our selves as Latinos. I'm a dark skin (brown or black) Dominican it's really not hard to understand at all.

Yeah ricans and Cubans are just as bad.

Dark skin comes from the tainos that were on the land when Columbus found it and the African slaves brought over by the Spanish and nobody in the country (both sides) denies that at all. We just refer to our selves as Dominicans/Latinos not black or White.

Last week my coworker who is an older Dominican dude, wasn't himself and looked worried. He never told Me what was wrong, but a few days later he requested time off next month. All dude would say is I gotta go back home, I gotta go back home.... He didn't look to happy about it..

I don't think I ever heard a Dominican rep Spanish heritage. Latinos yes not Spanish. And before somebody ask what's the difference.

"The term "Latino" is shortened from Spanish latino americano, "Latin American" thus narrowing the scope of meaning to Central and South America, and Spanish speaking Carribean Islands"

The Carribean had more African slaves than America because sugar was a more labor intensive plant than cotton. Far more slaves died making sugar than picking cotton. The tainos died off relatively quick. 1/3 of the population died in 20 years. 50 years in there were hardly any left because they weren't immune to smallpox like the whites were.

Claiming dark skin comes from the natives that were almost extinct by 1550 is laughable when African slaves were being imported much longer than that.

As for dude claiming he never hears it irl I highly doubt it. I don't know any Dominicans who aren't tired of this argument not to mention all the youtube videos of people claiming or denying their blackness.

And many Egyptian slaves died building the pyramids but they call themselves Egyptians today not black or Africans.

The egyptians were black slaves of black people.

They dont claim egyptian because when Islam came through north africa the muslims were killing off the black people in northern africa.

I swear the people defending their white genes in this thread :lol:

The Tainos you claim your dark skin from were killed off 100s of years before they stopped importing African slaves.

What the **** does the pyramids have to do with anything? The guys muslims who took over northern africa had nothing to do with the pyramids.

And one, the egyptians would be wrong. Two completely different sceneario as northern africa was killed off by imperialist as islam was spreading.
