Dominican Republic to be 'Socially Cleaned' in today

Well if it helps any, I'm Haitian and everything else upsets me way more

I feel you. What bothers me which I've said and I'm pretty sure most people on here even Steezy agree with is the going back to the 1929 makes no sense because it'll send back people whom have no connection with Haiti at all.

Since you are Haitian, I have questions do you have family in Haiti and do you go back and visit them?? Because I hear of lots Hatians Americans living hear but rarely hear them talking about going back or talking of helping they family back home, honestly.

Now to America, its interesting that everyone understands and knows Haiti is a very poor f'ed up country. Now DeBlasio goes on TV and says Americans boycott DR, but if a "banana boat" from Haiti reaches American waters or land they will be sent back knowing how messed up it is. Isn't it a bit hypocritical at this point.
They just want to throw their problems else where

DeBlasio just doing his part like a lot of NTers are because he has his own agenda being that his wife is black, dude is a clown, judging another nation on how they handle their immigration issues or hell how racist they if you fellas wanna go there, yet here he is, in a better position to bring change forth in our own nation than the average joe and what's he doing to prevent police brutality on blacks?...huh?...

Bruh needs to mind his own business, literally.

And yes is VERY hipocritical of a nation who's immigration policy has in FACT actually stripped mothers and fathers from their American born children, to judge how immigration is handled elsewhere FOH.

I've been too haiti about 13 times in my life, youngest being when i was 5 and as recent as last june. the few family we have left over there live on our family owned lot of land that my family pays for stateside. we send clothes, electronics, water, money and whatever we can about 6 times a year. my fathers side of the family is the side that needs the most help and since we're doing pretty well over here we always help. My mothers side of the family has always been pretty well off owning businesses and land. i have both domincan and haitian family living on both sides and there has always been racial tension in DR from what i can remember

We have racial tension everywhere though....we probably have more and worst race related issues here in America against our own citizens....don't see anyone boycotting the U.S. Because of it

Good and very glad to hear your family does help. Every country in the world has racial tension which I won't deny, but the black racial tension in DR I feel go for both black Dominicans and black Haitians I don't think it's exclusive for Haitian. I feel the discrimination towards Haitians is poor people vs "better off" people, like everywhere else that is poor and catholic. Cuz I'm sure you're better off Haitin family, in DR has a completely different experience than the worst off Haitian family?? Can we agree on that.

Like I said much earlier, is more about the "haves" and the "have nots" be it Dominican or Haitian.

As a whole yes it is hypocritical

As an individual? Depends on one's immigration stance

The USA clearly has plenty of problems. That doesn't prevent one from having an opinion about international issues. I don't think the US should intervene or anything

i do agree, but that because money changes everything. The overall image of haitians ive gotten from the DR side is that haitians are inferior, dirty, classless people. Not saying that everyone feels that way but whatever domincan hate towards haitians is in the DR it comes from a sense of superiority.  I see it every time old heads in my family that are haitian and dr clash

I feel like you and I are pretty much in the same page. Only difference is I feel like it's more of a worst off vs better off. Hence why they have that view of Haitians not cuz they are black , kind of like in PR they treat us like "crap" because it's not the better off Dominicans going out to PR it's the poor whom are desperate that leave they country.... I feel some people whom are have nots always have someone they want to be better then. I hate it myself and see it so much, like people who make 15 dollars and hour don't want fast food workers to make the same, cuz they want someone to look down at which is sad. And as Dominican I do apologize for any experiences your family has had, do to the ignorance of some Dominicans and appreciate you haven't had those experiences judge the way you feel about Dominicans.

Soooooooo much reaching from folk who have absolutely NO clue what they are talking about, comparing a large resource-heavy first-world country and how infrastructure is set up here to a small resource-lacking third-world country.... with another third-world country right next door who doesn't give a damn about its people thus its people cross over and (few legally, MOST illegally) enter and stay in the DR. Overpopulation and a weak economy that can't support the overpopulation are the catalysts for this. Racism is an issue in the DR like everywhere else on this planet but it's not THE catalyst for this.. KSteezy and a few others, let these folk who make comparisons to other countries (as if every single country within a given region operates in the exact same manner and has ALL of the exact same issues) wallow in their own ignorance. Many American born/living Dominicans don't have a damn clue about how things are in the island past Punta Cana, Sosua....many legal Haitians in DR, many MORE ILLEGAL Haitians, having babies in Dominican hospitals.... A ton of hypocrites here man.

Yes its a human trait to be that way....only fools would make it about race

im just not a fan how haitians are being painted as if theyre a gorup of evil criminals coming over the boarder to DR to suck up all the precious resources. almost as if illegal immigrant equates to a thief or something. hard to believe how any one of Caribbean/3rd world decent could speak so condescendingly about others from the same world. Especially considering damn near everyone with family from the islands has family in the US illegally at some point or another

I agree its like Haitians just can't catch a break anywhere.

They been through alot since the beginning I would think after the earthquakes the neighboring DR would have had more compassion.

Then again this is a cold world we live in....

Agreed

But let's not forget when the earthquake happened DR was the 1st in. Just know one else really helped. Like France and U.S. should've done more.

The US Government actually helped the most and we still have missions there.

Yay do know DR has done more to help Haiti and the millions of illegal immigrants that crossed over than the rest of the world has right?....let's forget the free healthcare millions of Illegal Haitians have had in DR just by crossing over, in a country where health care SUCKS! And it's own people struggle with it, LETS FORGET THAT!...oh wait, most of you probably go unaware of this because there has never been a viral video on this....like I said before, pick the brain of an actual born and raised Dominican with first hand experience, you will quickly understand the friction with Haitians is NOT so much about race, but about immigration/overpopulation....stop feeding into this hype, hundreds of thousands of Haitians have been aided in getting their papers straight since **** hit the fan, the deadline was extended to 45 days, only Haitians that have gone back, have done so on their own! The country isn't melting down, things are being handled.

Seriously tho, where are you crusaders when American born children of illegal immigrants are left practically as orphans when their parents are deported back to their land...after having lived here 30+ years and practically have NOTHING back home to go to....where are you guys to protest that?...America been doing this for years, I guess since they not black is not an issue with you guys...

Deflection?

So is only cool to bring up the U.S. comparisons when is convenient to the case ha trying to bring up?...AIGHTTTTTTT

Especially Mr 'awww man I wish I could cancel my plane ticket and not support DR economy because they racists"

Mofo please you know good and well you don't give a damn about Haitians you just wanna go to DR and stunt like you Birdman  to get your **** wet by some Exotica de Dominicana's like any other typical American douche bag.

Fools on here need to stop lying to themselves....I'm not buying it fam.

Black Americans on here  wanna point fingers and talk about self hate...yea ok...

I'll hold my breath on whatever rebuttal one of the race crusaders comes up with to explain why they not so irate towards ICE on how they have dismantled good families sending good kids straight into foster care, without as much as a warning.

Ive said this to my close-minded dominican family that if you kick out and mistreat haitians than we should tear down everything they helped build in our country. take down all the buildings, burn all the farmland they help maintain, destroy all the roads they helped build, etc etc.

Is not that one-sided, DR has benefitted from the cheap labor, Haitians have benefitted from a far better life than what they would have in their land...still they have been given a chance to get their papers straight....if it's that important to them, it's on them as the immigrants to follow the proper legal steps to avoid deportation, like MANY already have.
