That's such a simple way to look at things. The situation is 100 times more complex than you make it out to be.

I would go on and on about the difference between growing up discriminated against in this country, and coming over with an education and a clean slate, but why should I? It's obvious that groups perform differently. If the problem isn't the system, are we to believe that some groups are just genetically more prone to be successful? Or is it that certain groups 'focus on education' as was alluded to earlier in this thread.

Any other explanation you have comes off as ignorant and simplistic to me. I'm willing to be proven wrong, though. Explain to me what it is that generally makes Asians achieve more than Blacks and Hispanics in this country?

Its not a minority "myth" is implying that some groups dont subscribe to da drum beat of

"We're minorities, so we're being discriminated against.. That's why we're not doing good"

Its literally da equivalent of a dude crying at da refs cuz he feels like da calls effing up his ball game game, meanwhile da dude of da other team playing under da same ref NOT complaining and just lettin understanding da flow of da game and flourishing.

In 2016, if u work hard & smart in da USA you gon' suceed.

Hick Dominicans be comin thru w/ their family visas and in 2 years have a Bimmer, own a barbershop and have 2 dimes pregnant

Everyone wants to win, very few put on that work to do so.

It's never as cut and dry as you're making it out to be. You have yet to explain to me what makes Asian immigrants generally achieve more than Blacks and Hispanics in this country if the system is not the contributing factor.

The issue at hand is that some people in this country have to work significantly  harder than others due to a myriad of reasons such as socioeconomic, racial, able etc. The myth  regarding Asian Americans is that we're ALL successful based on...the fact that we're Asian...

Clearly not the case. Many first-wave Asian immigrants after 1965 came here with professional degrees and social leverage (not even counting those that BEEN here since the 1800s) that made it seem like all Asians are indeed successful...but when South East asian folk came to the U.S., especially refugees of war with nothing to their name then you begin to see the disparity. Why do you think the stereotype exists that Filipinos or Vietnamese or Malaysians are the "Black" Asians??

After 1965 asian immigrants were used as a tool by White america and media to build contempt between different ethnicities. Yes, there are droves of Asians americans that now aspire to that aura of whiteness. Asian American however SHOULD know that without the Civil Rights Movements in the 50's + 60's that the immigration reform bill of 1965 could have never come to fruition. My parents were able to come to this country due to the sacrifices of many Black Americans. People cast it away, but our histories intersect more often than you may think.
