Let's not minimize the damage Bush caused tho. You're right, no one President can tank an entire country in 8 years, but Bush years were no good. Unemployment was high, gas was high, everybody's wealth decreased, the housing crisis, stock market. I don't think anyone wants to return to that.
I don't think Trump can "destroy" the country but he could definitely screw up an progress that's been made over the last 8 years. This statement applies to Cruz as well.

Trump is like a Berlusconi, thry think he will fix the economy because he ran a successful corportation, and it'll do jack all. From what I've seen, Presidents don't nessecarily improve the economy, but every time they intervene, it goes down the gutter. Sure there's short term things like trickle down, but Trump isn't getting good trade deals, that's for sure. Globalization is here to stay, and America had its time as an economic powerhouse.
Hillary is one of those people I don't look forward to, she was literally tripping and losing her on everything during her term as Secretary of State. Sure her plastic surgery helped, but she's only here for the glory of being the first Female president. She's Obama without the charisma or energy, and I don't want 4 more years of the same garbage.

That's why I hate this election. She's there to get elected, get some glory and continue Obama's stuff because she's so tired and really just a crusty old crook. But nobody knows what Trump is going to do, I'm just not going to vote.

-First off, it is nice you're willing to make the sacrifice for one year. But the people that will be deported, blocked from entering the country, and continuing to be funneling into jails might care.
Maybe you're willing to make that sacrifice probably because you think you won't be hurt that much.
Trump can destroy the lives of plenty of people, even many of this so called supporters
-Plus it won't be for one term. Trump will have potentially 3 SOCTUS picks in his first term.
That means the Supreme Court will harshly conservative for another generation, we talking at least like 15-20 years.
That threatening abortion rights, rolling back voting rights, rolling back rights laws, homosexuals not getting acting to the Civil Rights Act, people potentially being losing their health insurance if Obamacare goes up again, and further the rights of big businesses.
And I'm not even exaggerating. Obama was way better than Bush and only had 2 years to cook with a Congress that was willing to work with him. There are tons of stuff Obama wanted to do but couldn't because Congress refused to work with him
Like famb, Trump is planning to add over 9 trillion to our national deficient by just giving very wealthy people tax cuts

Exactly. He had to help save the economy before anything else.
Plus he only had two years to cook.
If he had the 2009 Congress all 8 years then criminal justice reform, immigration reform, job/infrastructure programs, student loans refinancing, and subsidized community college would all be probably done by now. Plus if Joe Lieberman wasn't a **** boy, we would have a public option
If people want true change at the federal level, they should pay closer attention to Congressional elections, and show up to vote in midterms
-Btw, if people want to stop worry about social issues to focus on economics, then elect liberals/democrats so that these issues effecting people's lives could be handled. This will force the GOP to give up on them too, move to the middle on those things, and we can focus on the economics.
