Elections are mostly about the state of the economy and demographics and turnout. However, a well timed October surprise can tip a close election.
The GOP was foolish to waste and overplay their Benghazi card and their email cards. Imagine if Trump could have dropped Benghazi or emails in the third debate and there would be little time for Clinton to contextualize or defend her actions. Because the GOP has been milking those minor scandals for so long, we have been able to contextualize and understand them and they will have no effect on the election outcome now.
