Marc Gasol will be a Grizzly for life. Word to Tim Duncan. Maybe without the rings.

I wonder how much cash on top for Luke.

draymond would be a perfect fit for the spurs... dynasty

parker
bellnelli or green if they resign one of them
kawhi
draymond
duncan

ginobli 6th man

Jimmy Butler postponed rival teams after receiving max qualifying offer from Bulls.

Two deals on the table set for Butler, a shorter contract or a max contract... Your choice, Jimmy Buckets!

That would actually be a far better fit than Aldridge due to Spurs having to gut less.

Just don't see GSW letting him go.

Ridiculous to think Draymond Green can be counted as a #1 option on any team. Sure, he can do about everything but he hasn't sufficiently been a solid offensive scorer to be counted as #1 option.

Its a difference between being a 2nd option and being the 2nd best player on a team due to your intangibles  . Iggy won the Finals MVP, but I don't think you want him as your 1st or 2nd option on any playoff team.

Let's not ignore that he did play with the MVP and one of the best SG's in the league in a high octane offense. He's good, but you're setting yourself up for failure if you think making him the 2nd option on a playoff team will make that team more successful or he would produce these big time numbers. I just don't see him as that type of player.

Obviously it's not that black and white but all im saying is that he was the 2nd best player on the dubs all year long. Is he the 2nd option on offense? No. But he allows your team to do so much defensively and offensively in terms of spacing. Value like that can't be measured.

He would've never been this good if he was forced to be a #1 or #2 right out of college, but he worked hard, found his niche and now he could be a significant contributer on any team.

Being a significant contributed on any team and being that team's first or second option is far from the same thing.

I wouldn't be mad at teams like SAS or GSW maxing out Draymond because he just makes sense being there. But, if a team like Detroit throws the max at him and expects him to be the face of the franchise (or contenders) with Drummond, then they are in for a rude awakening . A maxed out Draymond is more valuable to championship level teams than he is to a team barely in playoff contention.

Lance is probably the best example of this. Lance is not as good as Draymond, but he had a ton of value before leaving Indiana because he could do everything. He defended at a high level, could be a primary/secondary ball handler, rebound, etc. But, he messed his value up by signing with Charlotte, which ended up being a terrible fit. I don't think that happens if he goes to a contending team with a better roster structure. I think he will end up showing his same value in LA like he did in IND.

I think just about every team thats looking to get over the hump from being a darkhorse contender to true contender in the West would love to have Draymond, though.

If Draymond was on the pistons he would be the 2nd best player on the team after Drummond. I feel like that could be a championship squad if you build the rest of your team correctly. Just because he'll never be the 1st or 2nd option on offense doesn't mean he wouldn't be the 2nd best player.

Nobody is expecting Draymond to be the 1 option and score 25 points a game. He's a jack of all trades and damn near EVERY team would love to have him on the squad for the max.

Right my bad, I misspoke.
2nd option =/= 2nd best player on a champion squad.

What I mean is Draymond can be the 2nd or 3rd best player for any championship team.
Which is exactly what I want out of a max player.

Don't know if Draymond can be a 2nd option guy, but he's perfect for what he is. He's a perfect cog in the wheel. You can put him at the 4. Put him at the 5. He's dangerous in the pick and roll. On a team with a strong pg, and that's a lot of teams, how do you want to guard that pick and roll if Draymond is that second guy? He makes it really hard and opponents have to make tough decisions. Cavs made the decision to keep trapping Steph and Draymond made them pay over and over again.

if draymond was on any other team we are not talking max player. well i guess in todays NBA almost every starter is a 'max' guy
