Again though, unless that 900K salary was really going to put them in dire straits why were they in such a hurry to trade him. Even if he never got off the bench, if a 50-60 overall pick is the best you can get at this point don't do it. You have another 7 months to trade him and gauge his value
apparently not because i know they have been looking to trade him.

Spurs needed a 2nd / 3rd PG and I've been high on Ray since Detroit, love him. I can't imagine the spurs getting better quality back up than Ray. Fits them perfectly.
