I'd put LA and Sac ahead of Utah right now. Utah can't score. They can defend like crazy though. I know the Lakers and Kings have killers on the floor. Kobe and Boogie. The Wolves have the talent but are really young across the board.

Clippers not leaving DeAndre Jordan’s home until he signs

One of the best NBA free agency stories in years is unfolding in front of our eyes.

A contingency of Clippers made an emergency trip to Houston on Wednesday to meet with free agent center DeAndre Jordan, who expressed misgivings about agreeing to a deal with the Dallas Mavericks last week. There was a war of emojis between the Clippers and Mavs, and right now the Clips appear to be winning the battle.

According to reports, the Clippers made their way into Jordan’s home and will not leave until he signs a contract with them after midnight, which is the first time free agents have an opportunity to do so.

Clippers believe DJ is returning to LA but I'm told they are staying at his house until he can sign at midnight.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks are trying to meet with Jordan too, but it sounds like he’s not having it.

So far, Clippers able to keep everyone else out of house, including Cuban, agents. Everyone. They're in four-corners until midnight Eastern.

I'm told that DeAndre Jordan won't even take a phone call from Mark Cuban or Chandler Parsons.

This isn't the Clippers holding DeAndre Jordan hostage. This is them keeping him company while he avoid facing the Mavs.

This may seem like a seige, but DeAndre isn't asking anyone to leave. So more like "boxing out"

It all DeAndre Jordan wanted was to feel the love from the Clippers, he certainly is getting it now. As for why there was all the confusion, well, it might have to do with something about the center’s agent.

Luckily Jordan took control of the situation and ensured he would remain with the Clippers.

The nice part about all the madness is that the seeming “hostage” situation led to a bunch of fantastic memes on Twitter:

DJ couldn't even give them a call on his decision?

Dude just stopped all forms of communication once the Clippers came into the picture.

You're free to do whatever, but it says something about character to leave people high and dry like that.

Yesterday was awesome and full of lulz. Go ahead and change your mind DJ, but if he knew he was going back to LA, why not just man up and tell Cuban. Pick up the phone. Shoot a text. Make a call. Something. Even Dwight flew back to LA and told Mitch face to face.

Yeah man, at least give someone a call.

But I'm a man of my word for the most part, unless I'm dealing with a chick and I need to cut her loose.

No respect on that one.

I think it's fair to criticize him for not talking to the Mavs at all. He at least owed them a call to say he was backing out. My guess is that he recognizes he's easily influenced, didn't want to be in a position of changing his mind yet again, and felt the best way to avoid that was to cut off all communications with the Mavs. Pretty weak and immature, but I'm guessing that's what his reasoning was.

yeah man i just don't get how people can get behind his actions. "oh it's his life" or "he's gotta do what's best for him"

yeah ok, man up and just don't be such a little richard about it. i don't even care or dallas and the clippers much less, but that's a coward move to reneg on your word then not return texts & calls and bunker yourself down with clipper teammates until the clock strikes 12. and the whole emoji thing was funny, but it was basically mocking the mavs attempts to secure this dude

his basketball ability don't justify the lengths people have gone for this guy
