I think you can manipulate the mins so he can get 20 per.. I think we sub mcgary in with Adams.. And try to limit any of our guys from young mins

Take advantage of our depth to the fullest

As a clipper fan, very jealous of the big men OKC has, especially Adams. Love that dude.

And Mitch can play. I'm wondering if he;s losing too much weight.

Just read about Reggie Jackson getting 80M

I dont know why, but i just get so excited when i see young brothers get PAID...

famb took a gamble on himself and it PAID OFF

:pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

what was the gamble? Everyone knew OKC wasn't most likely going to be able to keep him, so he put on a trade me attitude and got traded to show off his talents playing starter minutes.

Gambling is signing a 1 year deal in hopes of getting paid the following year.

Thank you.
Dude talking that pro-black my brother got paid we winning stuff.

I think he posted in the wrong thread, TBH

tbh i don't think anybody who think he would sign a 5/80 contract lol. just imagine how it's gonna be when we see the money the GMs will throw at players when they get the new cap next year

this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Russell Westbrook doing the bird man and rub as every contract gets announced.

Raps get swept in the first round of the playoffs & Masai responds by spending a combined 90 million on Demarre Carroll & Corey Joseph.

Yikes.

Yea...two straight 1st round exits, lose the 6th man of the year and your starting PF, then pay $90 to a 3D guy + backup PG. I'm just not understanding the direction of the team. I read a report earlier that they were contemplating rebuilding, but I guess Ujiri had a change of heart.
Yea Masai seems to be content with not even advancing in the playoffs.

The team went on a nice run right after he was hired, so I get why he kept the core together. But after failing to even win a single playoff game this year, it's time to move on from this group.

They're like a lingering fart at this point.

Man,he didn't take a gamble.
What gamble?

Reggie is known to have turned down a Kemba type offer from OKC (4 yrs, $48 million). He wants more & believes he'll prove worthy over time.

sounds like a gamble to me

that part wasn't the gamble though. He begged out for more minutes

But the gamble was passing on that $48m deal, which i completely forgot about.

I do like seeing someone pass on a deal like that, only to go and get way more.

Next chance of a lockout, I think owners are gonna lock out the whole ****** year

They're paying money right now because you have to compete, but I don't see them being happy in a couple years giving out THAT much money to mediocre players

Can we rank the top 3 best/worst contracts given out this summer so far?

The best (in no order):

Danny Green 4yrs / $45M - considering I thought the Spurs were going to lose him in free agency, this was a great deal for one of the better 3D guys in the league. Looking at what guys like Middleton, Carroll, Matthews, etc. got, the Spurs definitely came out like bandits

Brandan Wright 3yrs / $18M - Koufos got 4yrs/$33M and he's not better than Wright IMO. Getting one of the most efficient / athletic bigs in the game for the MLE is a good deal to me. I know putting him here seems like a homer pick, but its hard to go against it considering what other bigs got in this market.

Monta Ellis 4yrs/ $44M - probably one of the more fair contracts given out in terms of NBA starters. This would be considered pretty fair value last season for Monta, so it may end up being considered a steal for his production once the cap officially goes up.

The worst (in no order):

Wes Matthews 4yrs/$57M - hard for me to agree on giving a guy this much money after the type of injury he had. great player, but the likelihood of him returning to his old self after the achilles injury is pretty slim when looking at history

Iman Shumpert 4yrs/$40M - really needs no explanation. Gilbert was bamboozled.

Omer Asik 5yrs/$60 - the fact they gave Ajinca a 4 year deal, I felt like Asik was a little less needed. Its probably safe to say that Gentry may use AD a lot at the 5 this season and I'm one of the people that think Ajinca is pretty damn good (or at least he looked good last season). Ask may not see no more than 20 mins a game next year, which is good enough for Ajinca.

Honorable mention once it happens...

Enes Kanter - it really depends on what OKC ends up giving him. If its a max deal for 4 years, I'll be disappointed considering he will probably see less than 25 minutes a game and OKC is loaded with front court depth (on rookie deals at that with the exception of Ibaka). I've expressed my opinion on Enes enough a few days ago.

Yea, that gamble sounds like this....

Boss: You're going to work more hours and be in a leadership role

Employee: cool, I'm ready.

Boss: You go from $7 to $8

Employee: Nah, I think this role pays $15

Boss: You're right. How about $15 per hour then.

Employee: Sounds Great

What a gamble

i agree with that list.

I like Monte's the most and Wesley the least

Honorable mention as good: P Bev

There ain't gonna be a lockout. Only reason these dudes getting money like this is because it's directly tied to the income the league is getting.

Owners are eating so well that Kris Middleton is getting 80 million

League hasn't been in this good a place financially ever

watching No Crossover: AI. Anybody see that? I see why he ended up with money trouble.

His career ended terribly. So sad. We'll never see another player like him.
