You want to know what's so messed up? The fact that a player can get 5yrs/$145M, get hurt and STILL get every single penny of his money  . AD could play 30-40 games on average throughout the duration of his contract and still get paid. That goes for anybody. I wonder if the NBA would ever start limiting to how much guaranteed money actually goes to a player similar to the NFL? Probably not.

I hope not. These dudes deserve all their money, they're out there playing their heart out and earning orgs BILLIONS.

I thought baseball was the only sport left that didn't have a limit on guaranteed money.

While Wizards wait on Pierce, familiar dark horse lurks: Boston. Pierce wants to work for C's someday. Would he want to finish career there?

As one source sagely explains: Suns certainly have player to appeal to PORT in sign-and-trade if LaMarcus Aldridge chooses PHX: Eric Bledsoe

David Aldridge @daldridgetnt 1m
Still think Suns are dark horse for Aldridge, but 1) they do have quality PGs, which he wants, 2) with Chandler, they have legit center.

Of course, some players do truly deserve it all. But, I think adding more structure to the guys that may not helps. This may also make contracts a little easier to move.

Blazers GM Neil Olshey drafted Bledsoe for Clips. If Aldridge springs surprise & chooses Phoenix, Suns could offer Bledsoe in sign-and-trade

Feels good We got Love signed, not a fan of paying Tristan 80 mill but Dan got it, and we legit only have a 2-3 yr window of getting a title, so might as well.

Would take back everything bad I said about the Suns if they could pull this off.

From Sam Amick, about Tyson Chandler. Important stuff in here.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Chandler attended the Suns' meeting with the former Portland Trailblazers big man in Los Angeles. The unexpected development, according to the person, certainly peaked Aldridge's interest and may have improved the chances of a team that was otherwise seen as a darkhorse to land him. The Suns agreed to terms with point guard Brandon Knight on a five-year, $70 million deal not long before their meeting with Aldridge as well.

The Suns don't have the salary cap space to sign Aldridge to anywhere near the maximum salary contract he's expecting, meaning general manager Ryan McDonough would certainly have to make moves to bring him board. That approach could certainly involve point guard Eric Bledsoe, who agreed to a five-year, $70 million extension in September but is seen as available by rival executives.

The notion of playing alongside Chandler is likely intriguing to Aldridge because of well-known affinity for playing at the power forward position as opposed to center. That was a point of contention during some of his time in Portland, where they eventually brought Robin Lopez aboard to play center and make Aldridge more comfortable. It likely remains an issue with each of the teams pursuing him now, as Aldridge has always tried to avoid playing at the center spot.

Aldridge met with the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, then met with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday before seeing the Suns. He is still expected to keep all of his free agency meetings, which still include the Toronto Raptors and the New York Knicks.

I'm kinda shocked Love stayed in Cleveland. He never looked comfortable with them and they looked better w/o him. I thought it was a lock he was leaving.

Yep, but wouldn't make sense for LMA considering he wants to win. He would be better off just staying in Portland if he was going to Phoenix.

Even with the suns moving to get LA and Chandler, I dont like Knight over Bledsoe

They went from a successful gaurd heavy team to being a team lacking depth at the gaurd position. They shouldve let Knight walk and kept that core 3

Hornacek is gonna have his hands full next year
