another protected 1st rounder. if it actually ends up being worth anything the kings will keep it and the sixers get 2 2nd rounders or some garbage. philly will be trash for a while and now they're giving up their own 1st rounders. Kings win this deal

I think philly is getting the option to swap 1sts in two drafts

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Omer Asik is finalizing a five-year, $60M deal to return to the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Tim Kawakami @timkawakami
NBA source: Draymond Green's deal is worth $82M.

So they gave up 4 top 10 picks to salary dump, if this is incorrect pls tell me what the swap picks mean

Okay. I don't normally trip over the contracts today but Asik getting $60 million is somehow making me geek

Uhh Philly also has the right to swap picks with the Kings in 2 other drafts. The Kings didn't win anything.

From Woj's article on the Kings-Sixers:

The Kings had about $9 million of cap space before the trade, now giving them a total of about $25 million.

Sacramento wants to pursue several free agents with the space, including point guards Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis and shooting guard Wesley Matthews, sources said. The Indiana Pacers were meeting with Ellis on Wednesday in Indiana and working to reach a deal with him, league sources told Yahoo.

Stauskas, 21, is a young shooting guard who the 76ers targeted in the deal as the incentive to take on the Landry and Thompson contracts. Multiple teams had inquired about Stauskas, who had been the draft choice of the regime of deposed general manager Pete D'Alessandro and coach Michael Malone. Stauskas is still considered a good, young NBA prospect, and he'll get a broader opportunity to play with the Sixers.

Remember that SAC cannot trade that pick to PHI until 2018. Still owe a 2016 1st rd to CHI (from CLE) in the Casspi trade 4 years ago.

Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA
Saric is not in the Kings-Sixers deal, sources say. Philly receives top-10 protected SAC pick 2 years after SAC's obligation to CHI expires

Is it the right to swap picks or just outright swapping picks....either way they'll probably be worse than the kings so what does it matter

Kings 1st rounder is probably top 10 protected. It has a good chance of being worthless. More details needed

And stauskas....so many rookies have been traded after one season and nothing ever comes of them. Not really a good sign

edit- just saw that it is top 10 protected . "assets"

Technically Crowder's hold is $200k more than the min - but my point same - Celtics sign him last(ish)

Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA
Still getting details on the pick swaps, which may not end up mattering. But...that is, umm, not great for the Kings.

Annnnnd kid's pissed

Oh great, my Internet is down. It's only the most important day of the year for my job. Thanks, @BrightHouseCare. Great timing.

Bill Simmons @BillSimmons
Sources: The Kings have filed papers with the NBA to officially change their name to the Sacramento Kings of Comedy.

Bomani Jones @bomani_jones
see, that’s the thing. if you’re the kings and you give a pick swap option, you’re basically saying “we’ll be better than those scrubs." and, yanno, they might. they also might win the lottery, cuz when the hell will the kings make the playoffs? ah, bad teams are fun.

Jordan Brenner @JordanBrenner
The Kings are that guy in your fantasy league who is so bad, you feel guilty trading with him.
