LA was 29 years old only two days ago. Dudes old as hell probably takes his teeth out when goin to bed

Exactly  CP, you're my guy but your Spurs agenda is bleeding through right now. You're willing to say that Houston is in the mix after adding Lawson but the Spurs aren't?

Dwight/Harden/Lawson

LMA/Kawhi/Green

In terms of top "young" guys, right? LMA been to the 2nd round once in his career, and Green went toe up in round one last year, in a contract year.

They gonna win 55+, all the bloggers, ESPN folks gonna say stuff like "watch out for the Spurs" etc etc, then they'll face either GS/OKC/LAC/Hou in round 1, and not have an extra gear to go to after another 10 month's of wear and tear added to all those high mileage bodies.

Name the last team that won anything featuring a 40, a 38, a 35, and what are Park and Diaw, 33-32? Somewhere in there.

Age is undefeated. But yeah, agenda or whatever.

LMA destroyed Houston in the playoffs, like absolutely crushed them.

Danny Green also set an NBA Finals record for 3's against one of the best teams in history.

You can't conveniently leave those things out b.

I'm worried about their age as well, but you overblowing it.

Nobody knows anything, when you really think about it. Nobody saw GSW running the table from jump street. Atlanta. Injuries to OKC. Etc. The West is an arms race at the end of the day, and Lawson keeps the Rockets in the mix and solves the biggest question mark the Rockets had. They needed a legit ball handler who could score to help Harden out. No risk considering what they gave up, for a potential huge payoff.

This is exactly what I'm saying

There is going to be some sort of shock next season among the playoff teams. Either a team wiil be much better than people are giving them credit for, injuries or whatever. Its bound to happen because it happens every year. There even may be an upset in the playoffs. The favorites going to the WCF last year before the season started was OKC and SAS. Neither team made it due to different circumstances.

OKC-SAS was the most likely outcome over the last 5 years in the playoffs  . We've seen it happen twice.

Everyone is in love with LAC now for some reason and I think they had a good offseason. But, I don't understand people putting them into the conversation with a team like GSW. They are in the same tier as HOU and MEM. I honestly think one of OKC and SAS will end up being a little lower than most expect (at least throughout the season). There is only room for 2 teams in terms of the 1st tier IMO. Then, I see 4 teams in the 2nd tier.

Tier 1
GSW
OKC/SAS

Tier 2
OKC/SAS
LAC
HOU
MEM

Is pretty much how I see it. The teams in Tier 2 have not done anything in the last 4 years or so more than the other except for the fact LAC is the only one to miss out on the WCF. The way I see it happening...you will see one of GSW, OKC and SAS in the WCF against one of LAC, HOU, MEM. I'll favor HOU and MEM until LAC proves me otherwise and get out of their bad luck slump when it comes to getting past the 2nd round.

I hope every team can be 100% healthy (or at least the main rotation) come playoff time. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. I would rather everyone be healthy, so no one can play the "injured" card.

BTW, I really like Houston. Getting Ty for two BBQ sandwiches definitely makes them pretty damn good. I honestly would put them back in the WCF against either GSW or OKC/SAS after that move. Like every other team, their main concern is health. If Harden can kick his game into another gear with a better supporting cast, they will be pretty scurry

2 years ago, yes. Those things happened.

Since then Harden has improved, added Lawson, Ariza, DMo has improved, Beverley may be healthier (with Lawson around) and Corey Brewer.

Green setting a Finals record for 3's didn't really help him much last year. Nor did LMA shredding Houston help vs the Grizz.

Bottom line. After an 8 month season, they'd have to beat 4 of these teams to win it all, GSW, OKC, LAC, Houston, Memphis and Clev.

4 of them. All younger, faster, and extra gear possible. I'll take my chances on the field with those odds.

What makes it even worse is that Joel is noticeably bigger so the added weight only provides more stress on his feet.

Man stop it, Houston's defense hasn't gotten any better, it's actually been worse. Yea Harden is better, players in their 20's improve. LMA is also better, so is Kawhi, so is Green and honestly, so is Duncan.

You taking small sample sizes in the playoffs and I'm showing you that they aren't indicative at all.

Danny Green struggled last year in the playoffs but he was the second best spot up shooter behind Korver the entire year.

LMA's Portland team was washed with a revolving door for a PG and missing their 3rd best player, great example.

Not like he's coming off the best year of his career or anything.

If the Spurs are healthy, they're going to be just as good as any of those teams no matter how old they are.

I got OKC winning it all but it wouldn't surprise me if the Spurs do either.

We been saying they are too old for years but let's not act like Pop isn't the best at managing a season in the entire league, that mitigates the age issue quite a bit.

That "younger faster" **** is cute, but we've all seen it fold against the Spurs when they are at 100%. If Parker is healthy in the playoffs, this convo is a lot different.

Two years ago Houston was 12th in defensive efficiency last year they were 6th with Dwight and Jones out for half the RS

Teams that go furthest in the playoffs are usually among the oldest in the league. With that said I'm not sold on the spurs but I do expect to see them in the mix come April

Also were 5th worst in the playoffs with Dwight and Jones.

Around the Mavs and Blazers.

They were the worst defensive team in the playoffs 2 years ago.

Not buying it.

On a scale of 1-10, how pissed is Pat Beverley?

Took what many to consider a team friendly, under the market contract and now is relegated to be a 15 minute backup if Ty Lawson stays out of trouble. :x

I didn't think CP would be so age biased.

Awwsome pretty much said everything that needed to be said. I didn't feel like typing out a long *** thing in response anyways.

Agree that LAC and Houston are a tier below. If Ty can defeat the demons I think I like Houston over LAC.

It's his fault.

He should know Morey about that asset life.

I guess that is what happens when you play against the clippers and the Warriors with Jason Terry guarding the other teams best player but the point is they were miles better last year defensively than the year before when healthy Some of it was just more effort

No way he signs that deal if he thinks Lawson is coming. Now he might choke Lawson out in practice to get his spot back.

I saw him tweet that he was excited I don't think he expected to start for the whole duration of his contract anyway
