I didn't get to watch Malone play, but just found out he averaged 25 and 10 over 19 seasons and the only times he DIDN'T average at least 20 PPG was his first and last seasons. Dude was still averaging double doubles in his late 30s.
Why isn't he talked about more in top 5 PF discussions? Is it really just about the rings?

Most with sense thought that he was on the brink, I think that it was just thought that he was a year away from that. You have a history of Spurs bashing. You've legitimately written essays on it.
Saying that the Spurs will get bounced isn't really going out on a limb, either. Acting like they aren't a contender is what people are responding to.

Now that I Google top 5 lists, he's in almost every one.
I guess I'm just used to hearing more about guys like Barkley, Duncan, Dirk, and Garnett. Maybe just because they're all more relevant today than Malone is especially being that 3 of the 4 are still playing.

And I gave legitimate valid reasons as to why I think they will come up short? Like not lasting 9-10 months, not getting HC (because Pop knows he can't push them in Nov-Dec-Jan so they will fall back a step, ala last year and their 6th seeding) Because their main guys are all upper 30's minus 2 true keys, and Green who just completely wet the bed a few months back, in a contract year.
But I'm a hater, a Laker fan, delusional, and whatever else.
