All sports have evolved.

thats just nonsense.

yes qb in football put up ridiculous numbers every year because they have improved. not because you cant hit anymore  and the game has gone soft. its just much better qbs now.

]not going argue that one era in basketball is superior to another but in football its not close .was much better before.

Meh. In the 88-89 season only one team averaged less than 100 ppg and it was an expansion team.

Hard fouls don't equal better defense. 80s basketball was great but the defensive schemes of today are way more complex

What makes you think that the players of the 80s wouldn't be able to pick up on the defensive schemes of today?

There are better athletes now compared to the previous decades of the NBA.
Less emphasis on post play and more on three point plays also.

Fundamentals haven't changed at all since the 90s though, most NBA players copy moves that were made by players in the 90s.
Like most point guards have adopted the Shammgod dribble technique, just tweaked with more efficiency
The only other moves that I think that were improved in the current era would be the Nowitski step back fadeaway and the Manu euro step.

Currently yeah

I said if CP3 wins a championship..he would have a solid case for the 2nd best of all time..all those other point guards have debatable things in their resumes
I would say 3rd. Isiah won two championships, was the heart and soul of the Bad Boys, and competed against Magic and MJ and did well.

Isiah Thomas wasn't the force in the league like CP3 is in terms All-NBA teams, MVP voting and stats

It's giving Isiah a lot credit for winning on a complete team

yall acting like we discussing 50' & 60's basketball. we are talking 90's ball and yet dudes are asking were we alive to see it.

the game has not changed that much, like i said earlier that 98 pacers teams would be a top 3 team in the east easy nowadays.

“Ty … there were times when he was better than others. But the problems have been there for several years, going back to when we were having a lot of on-court success. I don’t want to go back too far. There were just a lot of times where you were at practice and you just know. You could smell it. You know there is probably deeper issues than he would probably let on.”

Ty out here practicing after a hard night of drinking. :smh:

@HPbasketball: NBA announces league pass pricing for next season.

Full Season: $199.99
Team Pass: $119.99
Single Game: $6.99

Say what u will but the NBA added the hand check rule and defensive 3 seconds and illegal zoning rules to open up the game. They even stopped calling traveling and carry. Because when Jordan left there was know one who could live up to his greatness. But they needed someone to. His finals series' to this day still has higher TV ratings than the latter and NBA retail/marketing was on an all time high. They are trying to give guys a chance to be these legends with friendlier rules cuz they NEED and will away want another Jordan. ...today's NBA doesn't work as hard, only to get paid more. Why would I leave it all in practice and on the floor for 82+ games when they'll pay me 70 mil to avg 13 ppg. Lol. Guys in the league only hungry when they want to be.. Guys back then wanted to be champions so bad. It was about winnings and playing as hard as u could. If u didn't u were exposed rather quickly

The greatest players and athletes cross generations. You don't use bird and magic and Barkley and such to see how much basketball has changed over the years.
