Yea I thought it was you. Respect.

And I feel it is important to experience the cultural importance of a player because that can influence how we feel about players. How does the media portray that player? Did casual fans know them? "Urban myths" were more frequent back in the day to give older players larger than life legends. Those things matter when comparing players of different eras.

So yea, if you are only 23, don't tell me how great Larry Bird was

Jordan said something about how Kobe was the only player he felt could beat him 1-on-1 because Kobe was a carbon copy of him with some minor changes

In that case, 96 takes 92.

And 12.
Would it though? Take aways the players from both because they wash themselves out (Barkley, Stockton, Drob, Malone, Pippen).

That leaves '96: Richmond, GP, Penny, Grant, Miller, Dream, Shaq

vs.

'92: Bird, MJ, Magic, Ewing, Clyde, Mullin, Laettner,

Man, Laettner really dumbs it down.

I still feel like its '92 under the terms we're speaking of. But I have a feeling I'm still not understanding the topic being discussed.
Nah, see, I don't wash out those on both teams, because I don't think they cancel out.

96 Pippen is WORLDS better than 92.

Etc.

So 4 years improvement from those 5, and Laettner on the 92 squad, gimme 96.

wait, so i think I'm not understand the discussion. I was thinking every player on both teams are in their primes when they faced each other, so thats why i cancelled those players out.

exactly how I feel. Like its against my religion to go against prime MJ. Give him the NCAA all stars and I feel like I should still go his way.
same here and i always hated mj. kobe my fav player ever but a big difference between greatest and your favorite.

I hated Jordan as a child.

Mark Price is my all-time favorite. So yea, the Bulls always got the best of them.

I messed with Barkley back in the day as well as Ainge and Thunder Dan. Of course Jordan got the best of them too.

HATED damn Jordan man

Prime Jordan was like game 6 Lebron but more skilled

So he's not like LeBron

You;re (insert any bad word). Thats belittling.

Again, all I said was its ridiculous of me to have a discussion about something with someone who was 4 at the time of the event. I felt like I was doing the right thing and not debating with that person.

And you're adding more to it by saying I wouldn't take a persons opinion serious if he was young. Thats not exactly what I said. I said I would be an idiot for having that discussion. I don't go talking about Wilt Chamberlain because I wasn't around at that time. You need to take a look at what caused that discussion. It was apparent someone looked at a box score and said Shaq did well against Hakeem. I think we can agree box scores don't mean everything.

And again, all i said, AND I THINK IT WAS A VERY VALID POINT, was what era of rules are they playing? Thats kind of important. The old dudes would have a hard time playing in this era's rules because they are use to playing dirty aggressive, and vice versa. What was wrong with that? You had to follow you comment about that subject with go wash your face grandpa?

I think you're getting offended at everything I'm saying. Stop being so sensitive. But I can see why you are. What I'm saying really is for people like you. The truth hurts for some people.
repped . im not into the generation debate thing but i agree with you alot. i cant talk about magic cause i didnt get to watch him. all i see is random games , box scores and numbers / numbers meh. im not a numbers guys. numbers can lie.

i never could hate MJ growing up in LA. Magic and then MJ were my all time favorites. Everything surrounding MJ at the time (kicks, apparel, swag) was just too much for me to dislike. I just couldn't get down with these:
